Chaojingmen is located on Huancheng West Road in Huicheng District, Huizhou City. It is one of the seven ancient gates of Huizhou Ancient City. Chaojingmen was built in the third year of the reign of the Ming Emperor Hongwu. It is an imitation ancient city wall intended to dam floodwaters, with the floodgates built as an imitation ancient gate tower. Later, the seven gates were all destroyed in the chaos of war. On July 3, 2006, Chaojingmen was rebuilt according to the original appearance of Huizhou's north city gate during the Ming dynasty, so that later generations could see this historic ancient building.
