Quite tough
955.3 m high, Mt.Raizan stands between Fukuoka and Saga. I took a public bus to Sennyoji temple, and then I climbed up to the summit of the mountain. It was harder than I thought. If you are not fit, ...
A little drive from Sennyoji Temple. Standing in a quiet place. When I went, it felt like no one was there. A sacred tree stands firmly and the shrine is behind it. I feel the power of nature in the scary silence. I feel like I have power.
I have never met a person who lives in Itoshima and says "I have never been there." Especially, the autumn leaves of the large ginkgo in the precincts are famous, and there are many customers from outside Fukuoka City, which is wonderful.
I also like the way to reach Raiyama, and of course it is bright red and beautiful during the autumn leaves season. There is not much traffic, so you can enjoy it if you have plenty of time.
The vertical runway from Mt. Ihara to Mt. Raiyama is beautiful and I climbed many times around GW. The summit of Mt. Raiyama is wide and you can overlook the back-flying mountain system. From here, go down to Sennyoji Temple at once through Raizan Kamigu and Kiyoga Falls. If you go down the mountain trail a little, you will find a way back to the Iharayama trailhead (Zuibaiji Temple).
