Zhouzhuang Ancient Town One-Day Tour Guide! Must-see!
We chose Zhouzhuang for our trip to Wuxi and Suzhou!
I recently organized the photos from my previous trips, and to preserve these memories in a different way, I made an effort to write down my experiences! Since we were traveling leisurely, the route might have been a bit roundabout, but the focus was on a genuine travel experience.
🚩Day One: Arrival in Wuxi (Night tour of Nanchang Street)
💫After dropping off our luggage, I couldn't wait to taste the local cuisine. I chose a restaurant that's a favorite among locals. As a northerner, I wasn't quite used to it, but I recommend everyone try the 🔥Drunken Crab🔥, which we ended up eating at almost every meal.
💫Taking advantage of the night, we went to Nanchang Street. It took us about an hour to stroll through, and the overall impression was average, mainly because we wanted to take a boat ride but couldn't find a place to board.
🚩Day Two: Huishan Ancient Town and Turtle Head Isle of Taihu Lake
💫Huishan Ancient Town: There are many local specialty restaurants and snacks, and the 'You Zanzi' can save a northerner's stomach!
💫Turtle Head Isle: Located in the center of Taihu Lake, it is known as the 'Paradise of Oriental White Storks' and is one of the most beautiful attractions in Taihu Lake.
🚩Day Three: Lingshan and Nianhua Bay
👉We visited the Lingshan Grand Buddha and were amazed by the Buddhist art.
👉In the afternoon, we went to Nianhua Bay, 'a town full of Zen spirit with a unique architectural style,' according to the official promotion. It felt a bit Zen-like, but I didn't experience much of it. The artificial atmosphere was strong, and we stayed overnight in Nianhua Bay. In the morning, tour guides with loudspeakers would provide wake-up services. The food there was barely passable. Not recommended!!!
🚩Day Three: Hanshan Temple, Shantang Street, Suzhou Gardens, Humble Administrator's Garden
👉Hanshan Temple is one of China's top ten famous temples, known worldwide because of the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji's 'Mooring by Maple Bridge at Night.' The yellow walls are very impressive, and you can ring the bell in the bell tower and feed the koi by the pond!
👉Shantang Street is an ancient street lined with quaint buildings and various snack shops🍝. We stayed on Shantang Street, which I do not recommend at all!!! It's very inconvenient for travel. It's better to visit in the morning when there are fewer people, and it's quite interesting to see the local legends and ancient buildings.
👉The Humble Administrator's Garden and the Suzhou Museum are adjacent, so you can book a time in advance on the official website and choose a half-day to visit.
🚩Day Four: Zhouzhuang
Zhouzhuang is an ancient water town with a history of over nine hundred years, known as 'China's Number One Water Town.'
💫Here you can find the Twin Bridges, Shen Hall, Zhang Hall, and many other famous historical sites, and you can also take a boat to tour the ancient town and experience the unique charm of the water town.
💫Zhouzhuang is really a lifestyle. If you like a slow pace, you can try staying here for a few more days, drinking tea, sitting on a rocking boat, and daydreaming by the river!
Don't want to be like me. I just remembered to buy tickets on the way. I can save 20 a day in advance. You can also choose some small attractions that are charged separately in the scenic area to buy a joint ticket. Because it is Monday, there are not too many people, but Quanfu is under maintenance and not open.
Zhouzhuang is worth a visit. When you come to Suzhou, you will definitely think of visiting the surrounding ancient towns. When you mention the ancient town of Suzhou, you will definitely think of Zhouzhuang. When I left, I read the online reviews and strategies. I really said everything. I think it’s better to experience it yourself and see it for real. Go straight to Zhouzhuang early the next morning in Suzhou. Come into Dezhuang, walk along the river and enjoy the scenery of Zhouzhuang. At the same time, arrange the route according to the layout of the two horizontal and vertical shafts in Zhouzhuang in your brain, and miss a horizontal or vertical as little as possible. On the basis of arranging the marching route, the important punching points introduced in the guide should also be activated and matched with the actual attractions. For example, the shape of the key, the Zhouzhuang sound of the double bridge at home and abroad, "the car from the door forward, the boat from the home" Zhang Hall, the magnificent treasure pot home Shen Hall, the charming rocking boat in the south of the Yangtze River, of course, there are writers Sanmao patronized Sanmao teahouse. Especially worth mentioning is that the female boss of Sanmao Tea House is particularly hospitable and left a good impression on us.
Zhouzhuang Town was built in the first year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1086). It is named after the Yi people Zhou Digonglang donated land to Xiuquanfu Temple. It is one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. The night view of Zhouzhuang Ancient Town is very beautiful, and it is even more special to walk with a small umbrella after the rain. I went in mid-March, and the experience of playing was good.
After more than ten years, I came to Zhouzhuang again, and I felt that Zhouzhuang still seemed to be in memory, and it felt different. But the same thing is that people in Zhouzhuang are still so enthusiastic ❤️ This time I brought a dog 🐶. Every restaurant is very 🧑🤝🧑. It is very good for dogs. Zhouzhuang's night view 🎑 is still as beautiful as in memory. During the Spring Festival holiday, I had a great time in Zhouzhuang for three days and two nights.
First the drizzle in the middle of the Sanqing Mountain and then the sunny day to visit Huangshan, in my mind, I feel that Sanqing Mountain is more than Huangshan, especially the West Coast scenery is really lingering, intoxicating.
Driving, parked in the Fuguiyuan parking lot, the key is free parking in the parking lot, including the Dongzhuang parking lot next to it, which is good, friendly to foreign cars, very close to the entrance of the ancient town's double bridge, with signboards. Zhouzhuang waterway is well-written, bridges are also many, do not do a good strategy easy to go wrong road, we are confused inside, walked a lot of wrong road. If you are at the entrance of Shuangqiao, it is recommended to go to the right to the ancient archway. The museum and carton paradise are there, as well as the ancient stage. I listened to two Kunqu songs there, and then I went to Zhangting Shenting. Look around the road, it is not easy to miss the small attractions you want to go. We didn't take the boat and wanted to walk on the shore. It's really a small bridge and flowing water, and the photos are very good. I am very satisfied with this trip.
Zhouzhuang is indeed the first water town in China. Compared with Xitang, Wuzhen and Tongli, Zhouzhuang is really simple and natural. The commercial atmosphere is not so strong. The river boats meet, the local residents are washing by the water, the ancient bridge is staggered, and the smooth blue slate upstream people are like weaving. The proprietress of the riverside restaurant warmly recommended specialties. Wansanhoo is really delicious. The breakfast shop next to the road is mellow. The Ozao noodles and Wansan noodles are also very delicious. The innkeeper is also very enthusiastic. He knocked on the door in the middle of the night and asked if we needed to add a quilt... Zhouzhuang, I have a water town in the south of the Yangtze River forever top1.
