Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple A three-day trip to Banna with a great experience. This is my second time to Banna. I was deeply attracted by the strong tropical style and delicious Dai cuisine last time. I have already visited all the major attractions around Banna last time, and the main purpose of this time is to lie flat in Gaozhuang, and relax and stroll around. There are not many attractions in the urban area of Banna, or they are similar. The only ones worth visiting are Gaozhuang centered on the Big Golden Pagoda and Manting Park in Jinghong City (connected to the General Buddhist Temple). Slow down and don't miss every alley in Gaozhuang. It seems that every alley in Gaozhuang can lead to the central Big Golden Pagoda, and every alley can make you see the shadow of Chiang Mai. Avoid the crowds of 199 travel shots at night, if you can withstand the scorching sun of Banna during the day, you can see a different Big Golden Pagoda with one person. Rent a small electric donkey, ride to the opposite bank of the Lancang River, and watch the Big Golden Pagoda with a group of "little elephants" at the Music Fountain Square. In Banna, as long as you slow down, you don't need a strategy, and you can spend a few leisurely and comfortable days in Southeast Asia.

Jinghong is such a cool city in southwest China, y'all gotta check it out! It's got a mix of traditional Dai culture and modern vibes that make it totally unique. You can hit up the night markets for some tasty street food, visit ancient temples, or chill in the parks. But the real party happens during the Dai Water Splashing Festival in April - it's like a massive water fight! Plus, there's dragon boat races and sweet dance performances. If you're feeling adventurous, venture out into the surrounding countryside to hike through lush hills, visit tea plantations, and meet some of the different ethnic groups that live in Yunnan. Jinghong is super welcoming and friendly, so don't miss it!

Jinghong central golden Pagoda is a huge and impressive building located right next to the night market area of downtown Jinghong. Also known as Dajin pagoda it is the largest active buddhist temple in the region. Unfortunately the temple interior is currently closed for construction but maybe people will be able to venture inside later this year again. The Pagoda looks stunning at night time when it is lit up from all around, i highly recommend walking past the temple and down into the night markets after 7pm. The night markets are also lit up and provide a stunning view of the temple from the rear. #passionpassport

Jinghong City's Dajinta Temple, also known as the Burmese Dajinta, is the chief Buddhist temple of Jinghong City, overseeing 205 temples within the city. The Dajinta Temple, with a height of 66.6 meters, belongs to the Theravada Buddhism Vajrasana pagoda style, symbolizing the connection of one river through six countries, and is a symbol of the enduring friendship between China and the ASEAN countries. Construction of the grand Dajinta Temple in Jinghong began officially on November 16, 2009, and the topping out ceremony was successfully held on November 3, 2010. This tall structure has a very exotic charm, with classic Southeast Asian architectural style. In Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture's Jinghong City, 'Gaozhuang Xishuangjing' is a transliteration from the Dai language, meaning 'Nine Pagodas and Twelve Villages'. The Dajinta is the tallest building in the scenic area and a landmark of Xishuangbanna. The Dajinta adopts a quadrilateral structure, with the four smaller pagodas being solid and the main pagoda housing a Pali Canon museum, with two floors of usable space and four entrances from the east, west, south, and north. This pagoda is one of the nine pagodas of Gaozhuang Xishuangjing. It is understood that each side of the four sides faces a different direction, representing four countries. Moreover, each corner of the Dajinta has a mythical creature with a human face and an animal body as its mount. The Dajinta scenic area covers an area of five acres, consisting of the Buddhist pagoda, a Buddha's footprint stone created from the legend of Buddha's three visits to Banna, a wishing platform, and more. It is grand and tall, with exquisite design, reflecting the essence of Theravada Buddhist culture in Xishuangbanna and the Mekong River basin. The exterior of the Dajinta Temple is open to the public free of charge all day, and inside the temple, it is forbidden to expose shoulders, backs, thighs, or wear revealing clothing for photographs.

🌷Spring is a season full of vitality🌿 and hope🌱! After playing around Xishuangbanna for about five to six days, I came back and organized this budget-friendly yet fulfilling itinerary DAY✈️Arrive in Kunming Arrived in Kunming at nine o'clock in the evening, checked into the hotel to rest. DAY Haigeng Dam➡️Daguan Tower➡️Starlight Night Market Went to Haigeng Dam in the morning, fed the seagulls, then took the high-speed train🚅 from Kunming Station to Xishuangbanna. By the time we got to Banna, it was already afternoon. The hotel was in Gaozhuang, so after dropping off our luggage, we went straight to Gaozhuang. Daguan Tower and Starlight Night Market are close by, the Daguan Tower is sacred and dreamy at night, and then we went to the night market to stroll and eat. You know, at the night market, look more and buy less~ DAY Manting Park➡️Jinghong Buddha Temple➡️Mengle Great Buddha Temple Came to Manting Park early in the morning, which used to be the royal garden of the Dai king, with a strong Southeast Asian atmosphere. The Dai king's palace and the royal garden are very photogenic, and there are free performances at the Elephant Park and Parrot Park. Jinghong Buddha Temple is a must-visit, connected to Manting Park with no entrance fee, very popular with worshippers, and the architecture is incredibly detailed and splendid. In the afternoon, we went to Mengle Cultural Tourism Area and visited Mengle Great Buddha Temple, which is majestic and truly awe-inspiring! DAY Wild Elephant Valley➡️Tropical Flower Garden Checked the guide in advance and it said that wild elephants could be seen around two o'clock in the afternoon. Unexpectedly, there were so many people, and we queued for nearly two hours to enter the park. Luckily, we saw a group of wild elephants around one o'clock, very lucky indeed. Later we went to the Tropical Flower Garden, which has all kinds of beautiful tropical plants, like a mini version of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden~ DAY Primitive Forest Park➡️Dai Nationality Garden➡️Mange Fruit Market Went to Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park in the morning, definitely watch the peacock flying show, lasting 20 minutes, with a performance first and then the release, hundreds of peacocks flying down is very impressive. After the show, you can take a walk in the tropical forest for a while, and there are also Aini ethnic interaction, ethnic musical instrument performances, and water-splashing performances. The ticket price is really worth it. Then we went to Xishuangbanna Dai Nationality Garden, don't buy a basin from the old lady at the entrance, they don't allow basins inside! Inside, for 50💰 you can rent a locker + basin + Dai nationality clothes, splashing water is really fun! Later we went to Mange Fruit Market, bought some durian, small pineapples, coconuts, much cheaper and fresher than outside, took the fruits back to Kunming... DAY Kunming old street and return trip Slept until I woke up naturally, walked around near Kunming old street, ate and drank well, and then returned home~ Very happy, will come again...

Going to Xishuangbanna in winter is really comfortable It should be close to the Spring Festival There are indeed a lot of people😭 The Starlight Night Market is in a state of people squeezing people This time, I also accidentally discovered a small popular spot for viewing the night view of Gaozhuang It's on the terrace of a homestay halfway up the mountain Positioning "Jinghong Qing Shu·Chunshan Evening SAND POOL" Here you can see the sunset and night view of Gaozhuang, the view is great! You can overlook the entire Gaozhuang by the pool The Gaozhuang Golden Pagoda and the Starlight Night Market are all in sight The homestay is also full of tropical style🌴 The window is full of dense green plants The environment is really good❤️ 📷"Xishuangbanna Lightning Avoidance Play Guide" ✅Manting Park (not recommended) There are many people, charges, basically check-in photos are in the "Royal Elephant Coffee Shop", but now the lawn is gone, the photos are not so good-looking, plus the park requires tickets, not recommended ✅Chinese Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden Very photogenic, divided into east and west districts, it is just far from the city, you need to leave a day to go. Don't consider if the time is short ✅Zongfo Temple The architecture here is very characteristic of the Dai people, it is worth a visit, there are also many people, and avoid the crowd when taking pictures ✅Jinghong Golden Pagoda In the Starlight Night Market, it is recommended to come during the day, there are really no people, it is easy to take a big scene, basically you can't take a big scene at night. ✅By the Lancang River No need to go to the crowded scenic spot, like a local by the river in the evening breeze, it's also very good. If you don't know where to go for the Spring Festival, you can consider Xishuangbanna, warm and comfortable.

I went there during the Chinese national holiday. The weather was a bit rainy but cool , and the air was crisp. 🏨 Hotel : Rating 5/5. I stayed at the Xishuangbanna Yiren Hotel, located about 15mins from the airport and 10mins walk from the Starlight market. The hotel was clean and the staff friend , I almost didn't book it because of the reviews I saw, happy I made the decision to stay there. They offer free airport pickup. I was lucky to be the only one , they used a BMW X5 . 🥗 Food : Rating 5/5 . You must try the Mango sticky rice dessert. 🏞 Attractions I visited: 1. The Great/Golden Pagoda of Jinghong - beautiful view . Rating 4.5/5. 2. The wild elephant park- don't go up the cable way , there's nothing to see , unless you'd like to see trees for 30mins. To see the wild elephants , it is suggested to go very early in the morning, and walk up the hill( stairs ) . Rating 4/5. 3. Big Buddha temple , the architecture was simply amazing ,it's worth a look. Rating 5/5. 4. Manting park - it was small but worth the visit for a light stroll. Rating 4/5 because of the cost and size, it's really small . 5. Star light Yao night market - amazing , there's so much to see and there were staged traditional dances while I was there in October. Rating 5/5. 🏙 Best skyline view of the river and Jinghong can be captured from Aisha Bay Sky River View Sunset-艾莎湾。空中江景日落泰式料理 , located on the 28th floor . The location is a bit strange as once you enter the room , you'll take a flight of narrow stairs to the top floor, you can order a drink and enjoy the view.
