The place where the immigration group pioneered Kitami in Hokkaido departed
There is a stone monument and an explanation board in the Kagamigawa River in the farmer town. In March 1897, 112 immigrants from this area boarded a ship and entered Abashiri Port via the Kanmon Strait and Otaru, and entered Kitami, which was an unexplored land at that time. You can see that it was Kochi who had a hard time laying the foundation for the development of Kitami City today 々.
A monument of the immigrant group from Tosa to Kitami City, Hokkaido is located along the canal of the farmer town.
On the other side of the canal of Hotel Nikko Kochi Asahi Royal, along the canal of the farmer town, there is a monument to the Hokkosha Immigration Corps. In 1873, 650 people 々 departed from Urado Port to settle and develop from Tosa to Kitami City, Hokkaido, and the first head was Naohiro Sakamoto. The route to Kitami was extremely difficult, and it seems that many people died due to measles epidemics and drift ice.
