St. Mary’s Basilica is located on the side of Merdeka Square in Kuala Lumpur’s city centre. Unlike traditional churches with majestic buildings and towering spires, this church is not tall and looks unremarkable, but it has a very long history. It is also one of the earliest churches in Kuala Lumpur.
This church is next to Merdeka Square and is an iconic building in Kuala Lumpur. This is an English church. The last time I came here was 20 years ago. I am very happy to see that the church is thriving-not only the building, but also the activities and services. Visitors are welcome here, if you have service activities worth participating in in this area. They have traditional services as well as modern services. This is the largest and oldest church in Kuala Lumpur. The architect of this church built in the 19th century was a Norman. The congregation is very enthusiastic, the choir is also very good, and there is mid-week service. There are also some very interesting monuments and pulpits.
St. Mary’s Cathedral is a very famous church in Kuala Lumpur. Although it is not very large, it has an ancient history. In a country where mosques are popular, it is really commendable to have such a very refreshing church, and it is definitely worth visiting.
Cathedral of St. Mary is one of the oldest Anglican churches in Malaysia and is a KL landmark. Built in 1894 by the British era long before our Merdeka.
