Lichtenstein Castle is one of the more famous castles in Germany. It is not far from Hohenzollern Castle and the shopping village of Metzingen, which are as famous as Neuschwanstein Castle. The castle is somewhat similar to Neuschwanstein Castle. There are not many tourists, you can enjoy it slowly
Today is another sunny day. Early in the morning, I went to Lichtenstein Castle, which stands alone on the top of the mountain and has few tourists. The castle is located on the steep wall of the Eharz Valley in the northwest of the Swabian Mountains, about 817 meters above sea level. About 500 meters southeast of the castle are the ruins of the medieval old Lichtenstein castle. This castle is regarded as one of the strongest castles in the late Middle Ages, and it withstood all enemy attacks. In 1687, the last lord of Lichtenstein was killed while fighting the Turks. No one knew that he had any descendants and the family became extinct. Today, in the hall of Lichtenstein Castle, the coat of arms of the original Lichtenstein family is painted: golden angel wings on a blue background. Maybe it’s too early, there are few people, and all kinds of POSE photos are placed casually, so you don’t have to worry about uninvited guests.
