Once a significant hub for Shanxi merchants, Qikou offers free entry. The Heilong Temple Theater Stage, a Qing Dynasty stage, offers views of the Yellow River and Qingshui River. The Li Family Mountain Village, described by artist Wu Guanzhong, features Ming Dynasty cave dwellings arranged like pyramids. Following an old shepherd around 72 twists and turns, I sat under a jujube tree sketching while a local lady insisted on giving me freshly picked jujubes. Floating through the "Ten-mile Gallery" on a sheepskin raft, I marveled at cliff formations and spotted the iron ring used by the Red Army. Highlights and Features Deep historical heritage Lukou Ancient Town emerged in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was once an important pier for Jin merchants to "walk west". There are many merchants and shops. Today, a large number of ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, such as Lukou, ticket numbers, warehouses, etc., witnessing the prosperity of the Yellow River's business and trade culture. Unique architectural style The ancient town is built by mountains and rivers. The streets and courtyards are mostly cave-style buildings with blue bricks and gray tiles, with high and low, full of the simplicity of the loess plateau. They walk faster than the wind and are very active in selling goods. They will also take you to restaurants to eat and sell tickets for the Yellow River Gallery. I really don't recommend it! The price is very expensive. The big carp in the Yellow River costs 180 yuan per catty. It becomes 150 yuan per catty after driving for 10 minutes outside the scenic area. When you arrive at Jixian County, Hukou Waterfall, it costs 68 yuan per catty. The ancient town of Qikou is a bit eager for quick success, just like a person who has been poor for a long time suddenly sees money and wants to do everything possible to keep the money. It is not a serious way. The Black Dragon Temple is worth a visit. The small puppet toys are good and worth buying! The nearby Lijiashan is highly recommended. The Peach Blossom Spring described by Master Wu Guanzhong is a completely ancient village with zero commercialization.
