The King's touring artists exhibition opens at Buckingham Palace for summer season
This summer, visitors to the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace will be able to enjoy a special exhibition called ‘The King’s Touring Artists’, featuring more than 70 works of art from His Majesty’s private collection. Many of these works have never been publicly exhibited before.
In the spring of 1985, the then Prince of Wales invited John Ward to accompany the Royal Visit to Italy as the Official Touring Artist at his own expense and asked him to create whatever inspired him. For the next 40 years, the King personally selected and paid for an artist to accompany the Royal delegation on overseas visits, and the itinerary remained largely unchanged. The 42 artists who have served in this capacity will be featured in exhibitions and publications, and have visited 95 countries on 69 tours.
Reflecting His Majesty’s long-standing patronage of the arts, the programme offers both experienced and emerging artists the opportunity to undertake unique commissions and spend a period of intensive creative time in the countries they visit. The works on display in the Palace Ballroom, selected by the King from his private collection, will offer a glimpse into the lives of the Royal Family on their tours, capturing the tone, colour and atmosphere of the Royal Family in a way that would be different from photographic documentation.

Buckingham Palace is a must-see in London, known for its grand architecture and the iconic Changing of the Guard. In summer, visitors can tour the lavish State Rooms, while the palace’s exterior and nearby St. James’s Park make for a great photo stop year-round.
Did not get the chance to go in or close, as it was getting late and had some other places planned to visit. But it was a great achievement unlocked.
Built between 1703 and 1705, Buckingham Palace is now the Queen's office and residence in London, the administrative headquarters of the royal family, and one of the few royal palaces still in use today. The changing of guards was already underway when we arrived. Buckingham Palace is not usually so grand, but we went before the royal army parade on the Queen's 90th birthday (we went on the 8th, the Queen's birthday parade was the 11th), which is equivalent to a rehearsal or drill ceremony. Although the Queen's birthday is on April 21, the Queen has changed her birthday waywardly to a Saturday in June each year, and this year the official celebration is June 11.

Buckingham Palace is open to the public to visit, using summer time, the famous Guard handover ceremony is held every day; the use of winter time is once every two days, which has become a great landscape of British royal culture. There are 775 rooms in the palace, including the ceremonial hall, concert hall, banquet hall, and gallery. There is a vast royal garden outside the palace. The Queen's important state events are held there. The main building of Buckingham Palace is 5 floors, and the annex buildings include the Royal Gallery, the Royal stables and the garden. The Royal Gallery and the Royal stables are open to the public. It is convenient to take the subway or bus.
Buckingham Palace is the British royal palace. It is built in Westminster, London, on the west side of James Park in London. There are more than 600 rooms in the palace. There are wide squares and royal gardens outside the palace. Buckingham Palace is one of the venues for the British National Ceremony and the Royal Welcome Ceremony and is an important tourist attraction. It is also an important gathering place for the British people at times of celebration or crisis in history.
This is where Queen Elizabeth works and lives, and is one of London's most famous attractions. The palace is spectacular, there are changing ceremonies every day, and there are many tourists to watch, the British guards are very interesting, not as high as our guards, they are, tall, fat and thin have uneven levels, very interesting.
Walking far from Buckingham Palace, I saw the scene of the crowds in front of me, and I was shocked by the sight of the head-scratching. It is also considered that I have seen several European countries' palace guards change the guard performance, but there are absolutely no so many tourists in front of me, it seems that the British Empire is influential enough. There are already several floors of people outside the fence at the entrance of Buckingham Palace, and there are also several floors of tourists under the statue of Queen Victoria outside the gate of Buckingham Palace, and we can only stand across the road to see. As the music of the military band sounded, the army band in costume and the changing guards lined up on the road between the statue and Buckingham Palace. The team was not neat, the pace was not strong, the military was not powerful, and it seemed a little loose if it was not a uniform uniform. As the team entered the Buckingham Palace courtyard, our viewing was over, and the changing ceremony was held in the courtyard, and we could only hear the music of the army. Later, another cavalry line out of Buckingham Palace, and there were cavalry in the guard changing show, which was also an eye-opener.
