[View] If you are at the Los Angeles Fire Department Museum, please wait a moment to see this awesome step back in time. From equipment to uniforms to cultural relics. Things are kept in order. It is definitely worth a visit.
The fire department's historical society is located within the fire department's museum. There are rooms for research, archived documents and fire department history buffs for consultation.
Only open on Saturdays between 10:00 and 4:00 this former fire station has been converted into the fire department's museum filled with old engines and fire fighting paraphernalia. It is interesting to compare these facilities with the much smaller facilities of the fire station that is now the African American Firefighter Museum. Reflecting the rabid racism of the Los Angeles Fire Department (as their own official history book concedes) one building reflects all the comforts of home, the other a skeleton structure.
The museum is very beautiful and quiet, with precious exhibits
