A-day wandering in Lucerne, Switzerland 🇨🇭✨"
#celebrateit my 23rd birthday
Nestled between majestic mountains and a crystal-clear lake, Lucerne is the kind of Swiss town that feels like a postcard come to life. Whether you're exploring medieval streets, cruising on Lake Lucerne, or soaking in the views from a mountain peak, a day here is pure magic.
🌉 Morning: Exploring the Old Town & Chapel Bridge
Start your day with a stroll through Lucerne’s Old Town, where colorful frescoed buildings, charming squares, and cobbled streets transport you back in time. Don’t miss Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke)—one of Europe’s oldest wooden bridges, lined with 17th-century paintings that tell the city's history. Right next to it stands the Water Tower, another iconic symbol of Lucerne.
🦁 Midday: The Lion Monument & Swiss History
A short walk away is the Lion Monument, a breathtaking rock carving dedicated to Swiss soldiers who died during the French Revolution. It's a powerful and emotional sight. If you're interested in Swiss culture, visit the Swiss Museum of Transport—a fascinating spot showcasing Switzerland’s innovations in trains, planes, and automobiles.
🚠 Afternoon: Lake Lucerne & Mount Pilatus or Rigi
No trip to Lucerne is complete without a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne! Hop on a scenic ferry ride to take in the alpine views, charming villages, and serene waters. If you're up for adventure, take the cogwheel train or cable car up to Mount Pilatus or Mount Rigi for unbelievable panoramic views of the Swiss Alps.
☕ Evening: Swiss Food & Lakeside Sunset
End your day with a cozy dinner at a lakeside restaurant—try cheese fondue, rösti (Swiss potato dish), or local Swiss chocolate for dessert. As the sun sets, Lake Lucerne reflects the golden hues of the sky, creating a truly unforgettable scene.

Great museum and most importantly very interactive. You can learn, admire, experience and watch so many things. If you want to learn everything and really like watching and reading a little, 3 hours is far from enough. We had about 4.5 hours and that wasn't enough.
A transportation museum in Europe with a very large area. It is also a very famous museum in Switzerland. The airplanes and trains in it are all early objects, representing the history of Swiss transportation development. These exhibits in the museum have been well preserved.
Although the ticket price is a bit expensive, 32 francs per person, it is really a very good museum with exquisite exhibits, a lot of interactions, and various experience activities, such as Morse code, paragliding, space capsules, etc., one day is not enough.
The Swiss Transport Museum, located next to Lake Lucerne in the small Swiss tourist town of Lucerne, is the largest and richest transportation museum in Europe. It has more than 7,000 cultural relics and 150,000 important historical documents. There are canoees and medieval carriages more than 3,000 years ago. The 19th century steam locomotives and mountaineering trains, 20th century old cars and aircraft, and future spacecraft, are more than 3,000 physical exhibits. The exhibition systematically introduces the development of road, rail and water traffic, as well as the contents of space traffic. The exhibition focuses on interactive and interesting activities, including simulated fighter jets, train driving, car impact tests, boating competitions, car showcases and more. In the auto exhibition hall, all kinds of cars are displayed on the exhibition rack, and the TV screen will continue to appear in the auto electronic version. If the audience likes the old-fashioned car displayed on a computer, you can tap the keyboard in front of it. The most popular, that is, the most clicked, this classic car can be from the exhibition. The viewing rack is displayed close to the audience. There is also an activity area specially set up for children, and you can learn about driving traffic rules, road and railway construction through the game. After watching the museum, it is a good enjoyment to take a walk by the lake.
Family tickets are 155 Swiss francs, including museums, chocolate adventures, a 3D movie and space trip movies. To be honest, the price is not high. If it is not an in-depth tour, it is recommended not to come. It takes a day but there are not many surprises. The other interpreter is only English, French, Italian and German four languages, children do not understand.
The Swiss Transport Museum, the trains and small planes inside are all retired from the equipment used in the original use. The adult ticket for a day visit is 30 Swiss francs. If you just want to visit for about 2 hours, you can go from 4 pm to 6 pm. At this time, there is a special price of 15 Swiss francs. The family ticket is 45 Swiss francs, which is very suitable for a family of 3 parent-child activities. It will introduce how many tunnels in the mountains of Switzerland are excavated, praise.
The Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne is a large museum that mainly exhibits the history of transportation in various fields of land, sea and air in Switzerland. In particular, he also has a tourist experience area, where he can drive various vehicle models, and experience it in simulated miniaturized scenarios is very interesting.
