󱔒Festivals
This year's Fringe Festival, themed "City Wanderer," presents 18 exciting programs and 13 outreach activities, transforming everyday streets into creative stage sets, inviting audiences to wander the city's corners and spread art with their footsteps. The Fringe Festival upholds the motto "A Stage for Every City, Audience Everywhere, Artist for Everybody," encouraging citywide participation and sharing in the joy of art. This year's Fringe Festival continues with two "Inner Fringe" programs: "Escape: Lost, a Digital Interactive Environmental Theater Performance" and "Complicit Play Clown Art Festival." "Complicit Play Clown Art Festival" invites performance teams from Europe and Asia to present three programs and two outreach activities. Through diverse and interactive clown theater experiences, you'll cheer and have fun together! Coinciding with Macao's designation as the "Cultural Capital of East Asia" in 2025, and to strengthen cultural exchange and mutual learning across East Asia, this year's Macao City Fringe Festival has specially invited a Japanese performing group to present "Urban Survival," a street performance combining aerial forms, interactive performances, and acrobatic elements, creating a comedic and thrilling street performance. This year's Macao City Fringe Festival meticulously fosters a connection between performing arts and community experiences. The festival will feature 28 venues, including traditional cultural attractions, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises such as teahouses, bookstores, shopping malls, and herbal tea shops, fostering the synergy between culture and diverse sectors.
