A 3-Day, 2-Night Epic Macau Getaway: Endless Eats and Family Fun!
📅 🌤 📅 🌃 📅 🌤 📅 🌃 📅 🌤
Day 1:
As soon as we arrived, we hopped on the shuttle bus to the Epic Tower at Studio City 🛏🛋
This hotel is so amazing that they even served rose tea 🌹☕️ and desserts 🧁🧁 during check-in!
After dropping off our luggage 🧳🧳, our trip officially began!
First stop: Miramar Restaurant in Coloane for some Portuguese cuisine 🍝🍝
Must-tries ✔️ Chef's style clams ✔️ Octopus salad ✔️ Seafood rice
Dipping the garlic bread into the clam sauce was simply perfection 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Once our bellies were full 🫃🏻🤰🏻, we headed back to check out our hotel room 👀👀
Just like before, a staff member escorted us to our room,
and walked us through all the room amenities one by one.
The view from the window was gorgeous, and it looked even better at night with the city lights.
Since they knew we had kids with us, they even set up a play tent in the room,
and the kids' amenities were super comprehensive.
The best part was that most of the snacks and drinks in the Mini Bar were free,
and they even refilled them for us 🤗🤗
When we asked for extra slippers, they surprised us with some foot cream too 😍😍
Every day, they treated us to different desserts 🍰🍫 and premium skincare products,
so you practically just need to bring yourself and some cash to enjoy the trip.
(Just kidding, you obviously need to pack a change of clothes 🤣🤣🤣)
In the evening, we took the Light Rapid Transit (LRT) to A-Ma Temple.
I was hoping to recreate a childhood photo for comparison,
but unfortunately, it was too late and the temple was already closed for the day.
So we kept walking until we reached Fong Seng Hong Kei Restaurant nearby.
We ordered a 🦀 Superior Broth Seafood, Suckling Pig, and Mixed Mushroom Pot 🍲,
Deep-fried Pork Intestines 🍻 and Salt & Pepper Corn 🌽
It was another incredibly filling meal 😋😋

Day 2:
We started with breakfast in our hotel room.
Lobster and Caviar Eggs Benedict 🍽 packed with huge chunks of lobster meat 🦞🦞 So good!!
We watched a movie in the room, rested for a bit, and then headed out again 🚓🚓
This time, we went to The Grand Buffet at Grand Lisboa Palace 🥢🍴
We purposely went on a Monday to avoid the crowds, so we didn't have to fight over food.
There was a huge selection of meats 🥩 drinks 🍹 and desserts 🍩.
Sadly, we were too busy eating and totally forgot to take photos 🤣🤣
They had macarons, which both grandma and the kids loved,
and they were absolutely thrilled 💓💓
After stuffing ourselves, we strolled around Grand Lisboa Palace for a bit.
If you spend over 100 bucks 💰 💵 at New Yaohan,
the kids get to ride the carousel right inside the store 🎠🎠
Then we walked over to Lisboeta Macau to check out the Line Friends store,
before hitting up Beebeeland inside the hotel 🐝🐝
We played racing games 🚘 shot some hoops 🏀 did the rainbow toss 🌈 and played claw machines 🧸
Time just flew by ⏰️⏰️
Next, we went street food hopping at Rua do Cunha.
We tried the Portuguese egg tart bubble waffles at Chak In Kei 😋😋
and grabbed some famous "Lo Day Beef Offal" after waiting in line.
After snacking, we took a walk around Galaxy Macau to see the giant diamond display 💎💎
Then it was back on the LRT to the hotel.
Before heading upstairs, we grabbed some snacks from Don Don Donki downstairs.
That night, we enjoyed a late-night snack in our room while taking in the stunning night view 🌃🌃.

Day 3:
In the morning, we tried the Chinese-style breakfast at the hotel.
The Braised Rice Noodles with Fish Maw in Abalone Sauce and Pan-fried Sticky Rice with Scallops were definitely praise-worthy 👏🏻👏🏻
Before heading home, we decided to let the kids burn off all their remaining energy,
so we went to the Super Fun Zone inside the hotel 🔴🟡🟢 🟢🟡🔴
Hotel guests even get a 20% discount ◇ 2️⃣0️⃣ % OFF ‼️
Inside, they had giant slides 🛝 rope nets 🪢 a ball pit 🎈 a mini drop tower 🫨
rock climbing 🪨 rope challenges ➰️ and space trampolines 🌌
We played until the kids were starving, then went downstairs to a hotel restaurant for lunch.
We ended up at a Japanese BBQ place called "Charcoal Grill".
The prices were actually quite reasonable, considering yakiniku spots can sometimes be pricey,
and they didn't jack up the prices just because it's located in a hotel.
The food quality was great, definitely worth coming back to fill our bellies 👍🏻👍🏻
After paying, we even got to grab ice cream from the snack shop across the way 🍦🍦
Once we were full, we headed back up to the Fun Zone.
You only need to buy a ticket once for unlimited entry all day 🎫 🎫
The kids rode the mini drop tower over a dozen times,
it's a miracle they didn't throw up 🤣🤣
Once the kids' energy was fully drained, it was finally time to head home,
and the kids were so bummed to leave 🥺🥺
Honestly, the adults didn't want to leave either,
because staying at this hotel was just way too comfortable.
Guess we'll just have to keep working hard,
and make more money for future trips! 🧳🛅

🏨 Accommodation Recommendation ➡️ Studio City • Epic Tower
We chose a super highly-rated hotel this time, and the location was super convenient—getting to the LRT station or taxi stand was a breeze 🚇~ The room was clean, quiet, and cozy, with amazing views day and night. The bang for your buck is absolutely off the charts! Plus, the staff was friendly and the service was so thoughtful. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Other visitors' reviews of A-Ma Temple
Show More ReviewsIt is the oldest temple in Macau and a core component of the Historic Centre of Macau (a 2005 World Heritage Site). Located in Largo do Senado at the southwestern tip of the Macau Peninsula, it is built against the mountain and faces the sea. There are two theories regarding its initial construction date: 1488 (the first year of the Hongzhi reign of the Ming Dynasty) and 1605 (the 33rd year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, when the "First Temple of Mount Kinabalu" was first built, with verifiable evidence). After the Portuguese landed, they transliterated "A-Ma" into Macau, which is the origin of the city's name. In 1992, "Purple Smoke from Mount Kinabalu" was selected as one of the Eight Views of Macau. The First Temple of Mount Kinabalu (main hall) is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy and features stone carvings from 1605. The Hongren Hall, a small stone hall of 3 square meters, is said to be the earliest building. Opening hours: 8:00-18:00, admission is free.
