I climbed Miurazaka from the old highway that remains in the old townscape of Katsuyama. The gate of this temple is quite large and magnificent. It is the family temple of the Miura family, the lord of Katsuyama domain, and according to the temple guide, the ancestors of the Hatoyama family served the lord of Katsuyama domain.

It is a temple of the Jodo sect with Amida Buddha as its principal image, and it is said that it was founded in the late Heian period, but the current main hall was rebuilt in 1814 (Culture 11) in the Edo period after the fire. The family temple of the Miura family, the lord of Katsuyama domain. There was an explanation at the entrance, but in 1996, Yukio Hatoyama, who later became prime minister, and his younger brother Kunio, who served as bunsei, suddenly visited this temple and vowed to launch the Democratic Party in front of his ancestors' grave. It is said that the ancestor of the Hatoyama family was a feudal retainer of mimasaka Katsuyama domain in Edo.
