Built as the family temple of the Yamazaki family

    Original Text

It is said that Ieharu Yamazaki, the feudal lord of the Marugame domain, built it as the family temple of the Yamazaki family in 1633 (Kanei 18). The eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva statue in Kannon-do in the precincts is said to have been made by Kukai. I learned later, so I didn't see it well, but I'm sorry! Temple in the center of Marugame city

    Original Text

It is a temple of the Jodo sect Chinzei school located in the center of Marugame city. It was a corner where several temples were scattered around. The entrance to the mountain gate was partitioned, but it was free to open and close and it was possible to worship in the precincts. In the precincts, there was a Kannon-do that housed the eleven-faced Kanzeon Bodhisattva.

It seems to be the oldest building in Marugame City.

    Original Text

I found it by visiting Sanuki udon shops between visiting 100 famous castles. The Kannon-do of this temple was posted next to the mountain gate as the oldest building in Marugame City.
