Near Matsuyama City Station
Original Text
I walked on the sidewalk at the eaves of the store from Matsuyama City Station and it was on the road side. I noticed the stone monument, but the explanation was in the weeds. Since it was the place where the birthplace of a celebrity in the Meiji era was located, I imagined that this area was also the center of the town.
There is a stone monument and an information board on the sidewalk of Hanazono Town just a short distance from Matsuyama City Station. Perhaps the state of the town has changed from that time, so I don't get the image of the birthplace. Shikido is also close to the city station.
About 3 minutes walk from Matsuyama City Station. A stone monument stands beside the sidewalk of Ekimae-dori leading to Matsuyama Castle. It seems that Shiki Masaoka, a haiku poet, was born here in 1867, but there is no stone monument that reminds me of that time.
It is a "Shiki birthplace site" on Hanazonocho-dori, close to Matsuyama City Station. There was a stone monument and an information board, but there were no people around and it was quiet. There are chairs where you can take a break. It seems to be Ehime, and oranges were made. Hanazonocho Dori has many restaurants, and it is recommended to 「 Clean 」「 吉 」 at the pork cutlet shop.
Speaking of a great man from Matsuyama 1, there is Shiki Masaoka. There is a monument that says that this Shiki is the birthplace of Matsuyama City Station (be careful because it is not Matsuyama Station of JR) in front of the shopping street. If you are not aware of it, you may pass by. I think it's okay to stop by before or after going to the Shiki Memorial Hall for those who are interested in history.
