On the elevated platform behind the main building of Dogo Onsen, beside the sky promenade, there is a Yujin Shrine. This is the guardian deity of Dogo Onsen, established by the 12th generation of Emperor Keiyuki. It is said that the hot spring water in the hot spring stopped gushing several times, and after praying at Yujinja, the spring water gushed out again. So until now, Yujinja Shrine is still part of the Matsuyama Festival.
There are two patron saints of Dogo Onsen at Yujinja Shrine, "Okuni Lords" and "Saohiko Namime". The "Yu Prayer Festival" at Dogo Onsen is held at Yujinja every March. At first, Yujinja Shrine was not in its current location, but Yujinja was buried in an earthquake, so it moved to its new location.
Beside the skywalk behind the Dogo Onsen Main Building, there is Yu Shrine, which is the patron saint of Dogo Onsen as the name suggests. It is said that there were several times when the spring water stopped gushing after the hot spring, and after praying at Yu Shrine, the hot spring water gushed out again. From then on, one of the links in the "Matsuyama Festival" in Matsuyama City was to worship at Yu Shrine.
