Qixia Mountain, also known as Sheshan Mountain, is located in Qixia Town about 22 kilometers northeast of downtown Nanjing and is named for the Qixia Temple built right into the mountainside. Alongside many ancient monuments, such as the Temple and Sarira Tower, there are also amazing natural wonders such as Qingfeng Sword, Tiankaiyan Rock, and Yixiantian. In the autumn the mountain is especially beautiful with the red maple festival being the time to take pictures of the mountains covered in a sea of different shades of red and scarlet leaves.

Show More ReviewsJingmei Mountain is wonderful, no need to elaborate, and it's quiet and less crowded! Perfect for those who prefer peace and quiet. However, it is indeed far and inconvenient to get to. Also, I went specifically for the Thousand Buddha Cliff, only to be told it was under maintenance and fenced off – so disappointing! 😭 And the sightseeing bus was ridiculously expensive – 20 yuan a round trip! After reaching the summit, there's only the Yangtze River to see, nothing else much 🥲 It was a bit of a letdown after climbing for so long. But I can definitely foresee it will be absolutely stunning in autumn!
