The tulou (storied earthen building) complex at Hekeng is located at the village of Qujiangwei in the town of Shuyang, Nanjing county, Zhangzhou. The terrace at Shizishan ("the Lion Mountain") is a perfect spot overlooking the tulou complex, and on the mountaintop 27 tulou structures of varied styles and shapes are within view in three different directions. A central atrium is found in the tulou, with the surrounding space cut up into several equal sized cubicles.
