Gaofengsi

Overview Gaofeng Temple is located at the confluence of Xiaoqinglong River mouth and Tuojiang River, about four kilometers east of Neijiang City and Lion Mountain. Founded in the Song Dynasty, it was formerly known as Tielong Temple, and changed its name to Gao Temple during the 12th year of Jiaqing. The high temple tower in the monastery sits east to west, with a total height of 33.3 meters, nine floors, octahedron, stone structure, and spires. There are fifty and six steps in the tower, which can be rotated to five floors. There are windows on each floor, and the foreheads are engraved with stone plaques such as "Hundred Lights Queen", "Yuanshi Tianzun", "Hunyuan Yiqi", "Western Nature" and so on. The entrance and exit are finely engraved with the pattern of two dragons playing with beads and the regular script of the master of Wenchang, the outside is engraved with the resort of Shanyuxiong in the town of Baptism, and the inside is engraved on the auspicious day of the Bingyin Xiayue in the eleventh year of Jiaqing, and the inscription of Xu Feng, the governor of Wenlinlang, is engraved. In the Huizhen Cave, there are stone statues of the Twelve Jinshi of the Tang Dynasty, and in the Danhua Cave there are stone beds, Danzao and stone carvings of real people, and the traces still exist. The lines of the clothes are smooth and the styles are different. The stone bed and Dan stove in the cave still exist. Outside the original temple, there are two remaining land temples, which were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Among the ruined walls, there are still two stone steles.
