New York: Free Roaming in The City of Freedom
#domestictravel
We trusted New York and have never regretted it. The city showed itself without the compulsive "look to the right, turn to the left" and that was the most pleasant thing. Our walks were like a conversation with an intelligent and observant interlocutor, polite, well-mannered, but devoid of any snobbery and prudery.
New York did not hide anything, did not brag about anything, and did not try to be better than it really is. He allowed me to see his real self — and won my love with this sincerit
New York has been different. Sunny and gloomy, warm and dank, joyful and sad... But he always remained himself and this made him attractive in any circumstances.
Geographically, Manhattan is divided into three parts — Downtown, Midtown and Upper Manhattan. Administratively, the Manhattan urban area is divided into 12 districts.
The iconic streets of Manhattan are the famous Broadway, which is home to banks, shops and theaters, as well as the financial heart of America – Wall Street, which runs across the southern part of the island.
Midtown, the central part of Manhattan, is located approximately between 34th and 59th Streets. Midtown, in turn, consists of many famous neighborhoods built up with the highest skyscrapers.
Downtown, the conditional northern boundary of which is considered to be 23rd Street, is located in the south of the island. This part of Manhattan was one of the first colonists to settle, so the geometrically correct street layout inherent in all other parts of the area is missing in Downtown. Downtown streets also have their own names, not numbers.
Chinatown is considered to be another popular Manhattan neighborhood. This "China in miniature" occupied residential areas around Mott Street in south Manhattan. Chinatown is famous for traditional Chinese restaurants and theaters, exotic delicacies in the windows of grocery stores, and fun carnival performances on Chinese New Year's Eve.
Little Italy, where immigrants from Italy live, is very popular among the guests of New York. The area is interesting for the colorful festivals of St. Januarius and St. Anthony that take place annually, as well as restaurants and shops selling hams, olive oil, Parmesan cheese and Italian sausages. Connoisseurs of Italian cuisine from all over the city like to come here for shopping.
Bronx. This New York County is the only one that is located exclusively on the mainland. The Bronx district is considered a bedroom, besides, there are both neighborhoods inhabited by wealthy citizens and neighborhoods that look like outright slums on its territory. Ethnically, the population of the Bronx is very wide and includes immigrants from Italy, Ireland, Jews, African Americans and Latinos. Today, the number of Bronx residents is about 1,250,000.
Brooklyn
This municipal district of New York is located on the island of Long Island. More than two million of its inhabitants — Russians, Italians, Arabs, Jews, Indians and representatives of other peoples – settled in fifty blocks of the Brooklyn administrative district. Brighton Beach is a haven for 30 thousand Soviet emigrants, it is also located in the Brooklyn area. Brighton Beach is characterized by native Russian household traditions and culture. It is the Brighton Beach Ballet Theater that is the most famous Russian ballet center in the United States.
Queens is located on the island of Long Island, is the largest in area and the second most populous. Its population is almost 2 million people.
Welcome to NY!
very Nice and clean neighberhood with nice shops, coffee places and bakeries, there are street arts and typical New York buildings
Broadway Avenue is a paradise for drama fans. You can feel the strong atmosphere of drama just by walking on the street. There are world-class theaters and wonderful performances here. Whether it is classics or new works, they can make people intoxicated. At night, the lights are bright and the atmosphere is warm.
I visited there first time, I thought there are a little stinky and dirty. However, it is so fun place, so you should go there once in your life. There are so many souvenir shops.
Broadway is actually the name of a road. There are theaters on both sides of the road and in the surrounding areas. The theaters in the core area are relatively large and perform popular plays. The small theaters in the surrounding areas perform some unknown small plays. The whole area is very lively and has a rich nightlife.
Came here while driving through the Cotswolds. Great views without having to go into the restored 18th century tower but we now wish we had as there seemed to be some interesting exhibitions. We visited the small gift shop at the base of the tower and also went into a larger gift shop and bought some beautiful silver jewellery to take back to Canada.
We walked up the country road from Broadway which took us past the Broadway Tower. We did not go inside the tower but it is a very attractive and remarkable building. The view from here is absolutely stunning (even on a foggy and overcast day...we wanted to see blue skies and sunshine here).
That was a really nice show and great seats with special offers from Handover. Chicago is great to see and the ticketing service was great. I bought two tickets at half price. The location was great and it was convenient to pick up the tickets. I recommend it to everyone. You can buy tickets from this ticket service.
