Falaj Daris Park

'Faraji' is a unique method of agricultural irrigation that delivers water to almost every corner of the country without the use of machines. To talk about the principle, it is equivalent to what we call karez. There are still more than 3,000 falajides still in use in Oman, which are as dense as cobwebs. Farage is divided into several forms. The first is called "Dawoodia Fallaji", which is a canal built under the surface, several kilometers in length and tens of meters in depth. Its water source comes from rainwater collected in the subsoil of the mountains. The second is called "Gail Farage", which is a channel for drawing water from ground and semi-ground flowing water, generally about 500-2000 meters long, and its water source comes from a river valley. The third type of falaj is called "spring water falaj", which is a falaj whose water source comes directly from the spring, with a length of 200-1000 meters. In 2006, FalajDaris was listed as a World Heritage Site together with 4 other relatively large irrigation canals. It belongs to Dawoodia Falaj, about 2 kilometers long. It continues from the valley in the mountains to the center of the old city. The surrounding residents rely on it. Irrigation of crops and provision of life. There is a small FalajDaris park in the part closer to the city, showing a small section of water canal, and you can enter the park for free. The clear stream gurgling in the canals in the garden is very cool. There is also a monument with a brief introduction to the Farage canal system written in four languages on four sides.
