Noto Cathedral

In the middle of May, Noto celebrates the marvels of spring and the coming summer with a colourful festa known as the Infiorata. Via Nicolaci becomes home to flower artists from all over the world who create a carpet of beautiful petal mosaics inspired by the year's theme.Part of a UNESCO Heritage Site, Noto is not to be missed, even if Baroque architecture is not your cup of tea. More than just a baroque town, it is a subliminal expression of originality, fantasy, obsession, and man’s resilience in the face of the overwhelming force of nature.The cathedral of Noto is the principal baroque monuments in the town of Noto, in south-east Sicily. The town is known as the capital of Sicilian baroque architecture, and the cathedral facade is the principal example of the style in the town.

We had no accommodation in Noto, arrived at noon, then parked the car and made a big roundabout along the town. The main street of the town center dominated by Noto Cathedral is very stylish on both sides, especially the steps in front of the church are very spacious, and it is also a place where tourists like to sit. Compared with the cathedral, it is the city hall. These Baroque-style buildings look magnificent and have a super good visual sense. Noto Cathedral was damaged by the earthquake, but the whole town was rebuilt, so it felt particularly gorgeous.

Very beautiful church ⛪️ worth a visit

The largest church in the area, the visit is not a holiday, so it is almost empty, only tourists walk inside. Tourists do not take pictures under the warning of the tour guide, not loudly. It's over after a walk.

Built in 1694 and completed in 1703, it was a baroque church building that was later destroyed in an earthquake. It was reconstructed in the eighteenth century using the same materials and techniques. The cathedral is golden in the sun. Directly opposite is the town hall (you can visit by buying tickets)
