Exploring Osaka Castle: A Journey Through Time!
Good morning, dear travelers! Today, I'm taking you on a journey to explore Osaka Castle, a landmark steeped in history.
🌅 I arrived at the foot of Osaka Castle early in the morning. Although the park wasn't open yet, I could already feel the weight of history. The morning sun shone on the castle walls, as if draping the ancient castle in a golden cloak.
🏰 Osaka Castle, built in 1620 by Tokugawa Hidetada, is one of Japan's three most famous castles, along with Kumamoto Castle and Nagoya Castle. Every stone and every piece of wood seems to tell a story of the past.
🏞️ Today, Osaka Castle has become a park where visitors can experience Japanese history and culture in a relaxed atmosphere. Imagine wearing a gorgeous kimono and strolling among the quaint houses, as if you've traveled back to the Edo period.
🎨 The towering Tenshukaku is the iconic building of Osaka Castle. Built in 1931, its exterior walls are mainly painted white, but the top floor is decorated in the black lacquer and gold style of the Toyotomi period, giving it a unique charm.
🛡️ Speaking of defense, the stone walls of Osaka Castle were among the most advanced defensive facilities of the time. Especially the giant stone known as the "Dragon and Tiger Stone," weighing 108 tons, is said to have been transported by water. Imagine how people back then overcame numerous difficulties to transport this giant stone here!
🍂 Although it's winter in Japan now, the leaves on the trees along the moat outside Osaka Castle remain golden. The December wind carries the remnants of autumn, making you feel as if you're in a dreamlike fairy tale world.
That's all for today's exploration! Once the park opens, I'll be sure to take a good look inside and share more stories and photos with you! I look forward to traveling through time with you and experiencing the charm of Osaka Castle!
There weren't many highlights. It was a reconstruction of an old building, which explains why there were so many modern architectural details. There was a lot of explanatory material, but not many original artifacts; it seems that apart from the foundation, there's not much from the Toyotomi Hideyoshi era. The extra stone museum ticket wasn't really worth it. You just go in, look at the pile of stones from the foundation, and then leave. The Japanese are really something—they managed to put together an exhibition of such a small amount of material.
There is a large park surrounding the castle, perfect for a pleasant walk. The castle is a popular tourist destination, so it’s best to plan your visit in advance, as there are often long queues. Unfortunately, the interior has not preserved its historical appearance and now resembles an office building from the late 1990s. Inside, there are small exhibitions, but photography is not allowed. From the castle roof, you can enjoy a picturesque view of the city and the park below.
If you're visiting Osaka, Kansai, you absolutely must visit Osaka Castle Park. The castle tower offers information about Osaka's history and culture, and you can also admire the Japanese garden architecture. It's also a great place to enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and crimson leaves in autumn. Each season has its own unique charm. It's worth a visit.
It is a large green park and historical site located in the central district of Osaka, Japan. The park was built in 1586 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It was originally a castle built with majestic stone walls. • After many wars, the existing park was rebuilt by private funds in 1931. There is a castle tower: the main building of the park, with 5 floors on the outside and 8 floors on the inside, 54.8 meters high. The 7th floor and below are the archives, and the 8th floor is the observation deck. Wooden statues, weapons and paintings of Toyotomi Hideyoshi are preserved inside. Climbing the castle tower, you can overlook the beautiful scenery around Osaka. • Nishinomaru Garden: There are wide grasslands in the park, as well as ancient monuments such as the outer moat and Taihei Gate that were burned and rebuilt. It is a good place for walking and leisure, and it is also a popular place for cherry blossom viewing in spring. • Time capsule: buried at the 1970 Osaka World Expo in Japan, it is scheduled to be opened 5,000 years later. Among them, "Time Capsule No. 2" will be opened for the first time in 2000, and will be opened every 100 years thereafter. • Sakura Gate: When Osaka Castle suffered a fire, only this Sakura Gate, which was built entirely of huge stones, remained intact and became the only remaining relic. • Moat: There is a moat built around the city wall, and the riverside is full of exotic flowers and greenery, full of poetic and picturesque scenery. You can enjoy flowers: The park has lush vegetation and various trees. Cherry blossoms are in full bloom in spring and plum blossoms are in full bloom in winter. It is a great place to enjoy cherry blossoms and plum blossoms. • Music performances: Every weekend and holiday, many unknown bands will come to the outer moat to perform for free, and there will also be folk art performances, including dance, music, and juggling.
During this trip to Osaka, Osaka Castle Park left me with a great impression! When you step into the park, it feels like you are instantly away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and you can see green everywhere. The park is very large, and it is very pleasant to walk in it. The iconic building, the castle tower, stands tall, and the water green of the exterior wall is decorated with gold, which is solemn and soft, and shines brightly under the sun. Climbing up the castle tower, you can see the city scenery of Osaka, and the sense of openness is refreshing. There are many cultural relics on display inside the castle tower, which introduces the history of Osaka Castle in detail, giving me a deeper understanding of the past of this city. There are also plum forests and Nishinomaru Gardens around. Imagine that when plum blossoms and cherry blossoms bloom in spring, this place must be beautiful. The supporting facilities of the park are also very complete. You can find a rest area at any time when you are tired. There are also small trains, cruise ships and other projects, which add a lot of fun to play. The transportation is also extremely convenient, and you can easily get there whether you take the subway or the JR line. Osaka Castle Park has both historical charm and the breath of life, it is really worth a visit!
It is worth a special visit. If there are not many people, it is recommended to go upstairs to look at the scenery of Osaka. The building is very unique, and it is also quite photogenic. The self-service vending machine on the left side of the front square is the Conan check-in point, and many tourists take pictures there. And from that angle, you can also take pictures of planes flying behind the building, which is very good. It is also close to the Osaka Police Department, so you can check in on the way. Then take the subway to Umeda, which is very close. Basically, two hours of play time is enough.
