What travelers say:

We went to Mui Ne by FUTA sleeping bus from Ho Chi Minh City. It was a long trip but worth the time. Resting our legs straight on the bus is nice so the long trip doesn't feel tired. We rented a scooter from a restaurant having signage "for rent". We rented for 3 days so the cost was about 120,000 VND per day. The next day we woke up before sunrise and headed to the nearest sanddune Doi Hong (Red Sandune) which is very close to town. Entrance is free and we paid to have our scooter looked after. When done with the photographs, we went back to hotel for breakfast and shower. We then headed to the white sanddune which is far, about 20km away. It was quite hot during mid day. Entrance ticket about 15,000 VND or similar which is very cheap. There they have the jeeps and other vehicles to bring you up so you don't have to walk. The next day we visited the Fairy Stream which is in town. Nice little stream and need to buy ticket which is cheap. Mui Ne is most famous for the 2 sanddunes although in other provinces you can find sanddunes too. Beaches might be too rough to swim, better for surfing I guess. For beaches, either go to large resorts far from town or go to Phan Thiet about 20 km away. Foods and beverages in Mui Ne are pricey as this is a touristy city. If you choose your hotel near Fairy Stream, things are cheaper but not many restaurants and tourists like in Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street.
