It covers an area of 145 acres and has 50,000 species of desert plants, one-third of which are locally owned, and 139 species are rare, threatened or endangered. This botanical garden is beautifully laid out to highlight the very diverse flora of the Sonoran Desert
The Botanical Flats and Desert Trails and Sonora Desert Nature Loop are easy to navigate and offer great plants and views. Don't miss the gazebo where you can watch birds, including the roadrunner. The variety of cacti, agaves and yuccas are incredible. There is also a cafe. Recommended for all ages.
The winter holiday light celebrations with amazing cacti and other native plants are spectacular, especially on the dramatic hillside! While I can imagine the charm of the gardens in the spring, summer, and fall, I can't imagine what it would be like without the winter light show! I will come back to satisfy my curiosity!
[Arizona❥Phoenix] My friend asked me why I went so far to see the cactus. I didn’t say anything, but the cactus said, “Look at Figure 5. Do you feel the contempt from the cactus world? And the cactus sundial is very good.”
The Desert Botanical Garden is located in the southwest of Tucson, close to Mexico, and has a typical tropical desert climate. The sky is as blue as ever, and the sunlight makes my bald head numb. Sometimes I feel that such a good environment is also a burden.
