based on 56989 reviewsSugarloaf Mountain is a must-visit site in Rio. We went on a Monday at 16:00, thinking we would make it up in time for sunset at 17:30. The queue was so long that the attendants just laughed when we asked for an estimate. We went to the beach instead, then prebooked tickets on CTrip for the next day. The process of using the tickets was a bit confusing. When we arrived at the cable station at 15:00 we were told to go to the reception desk to have our proof of booking printed out. A kind lady at reception helped us do this luckily, but it was a bit confusing due to the language barrier. After we’d printed the proof we had to go to another window to collect our physical ticket and were then allowed to join the queue to board the cable car quite far ahead of the back of the line - so even though the process was confusing, booking online definitely helped. This is the one occasion where I would say that paying extra to skip the queue is really worth it!!! The Sugar Loaf cable car ride is actually divided into two separate segments. This means that you queue to get tickets, queue to board the first cable car, queue to board the second cable car, and then queue twice more to go back down - and each time you’re queuing for about 30 minutes! And this was on a Tuesday in July; I can’t imagine what it’s like on the weekend. Anyway, the pictures show that it was definitely worth the effort:)

Brazil Sugar Loaf Mountain is very close to the city. It is a mountain very close to the city. It is especially suitable for daily exercise or strolling on the mountain when you have nothing to do. Because the shape of this mountain is particularly like a kind of utensil candy, it is named Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Every time you go to Rio, you will find new surprises and new discoveries (very similar to New York). It is a tourist destination that you can enjoy for a long time. Rio's invincible attractions are enough to spend time to see, Sugar Loaf Mountain/Christ the Redeemer Statue/Copacabana Beach/Ipanema Beach/Selaron Steps/Santa Teresa District/Age Park/Rio Cathedral/Museum of Tomorrow... Each of them is a check-in spot where you can take super beautiful blockbusters. There are also countless peaks that you can hike to the top and overlook the city and the bay, and countless beaches and bays where you can swim, snorkel, and take a boat for a whole day. Even if you are too lazy to check in anywhere, it is still very comfortable to soak in the hotel rooftop swimming pool. There are so many beautiful women and handsome men in Rio that they are as countless as the stars in the sky. There are two things that Rio lacks the most: food and safety. The local Brazilian barbecue is really enough to eat once. The restaurants lack diversity. It is not expensive but there are too few good ones. It is ridiculous that seafood can be cooked so badly. Then it is very unsafe. You must not wear branded clothes and shoes when going out. You must not use your phone when walking on the street, otherwise it is easy to be stolen or robbed. However, the flaws do not outweigh the merits. This city is really a beautiful existence. As a famous saying goes, if you can't go to heaven, go to Rio. It is the place second only to heaven.
Sugarloaf Mountain is a famous tourist attraction in Brazil. It is named after its shape resembling French bread. Located at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, it is one of the symbols of Rio de Janeiro. Sugarloaf Mountain is 396 meters high. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can have a panoramic view of Rio. There are two slightly lower peaks adjacent to Sugarloaf Mountain - Dog Face Mountain and Urca Mountain, both of which are 215 meters high. In 1565, Rio was founded between these two mountains. Now you can still see the ancient São João Castle that defended Rio at the foot of the mountain.
Sugarloaf Mountain and Monte Cristo are both the best angles to enjoy the entire Rio scenery. The difference between the two mountains is that Sugarloaf Mountain is closer to the sea. Whether it is the side facing the CBD and the domestic airport or the direction of the two vast beaches, the scenery is extremely stunning. Many people like to come here to see the scenery at sunset. There is also a helicopter service here to cover the city, the sea and the sky.
The Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro got its name because its shape is very similar to a round sweet bun. The peculiarity is that such a round mountain suddenly appears on the seashore in the city center. You can see the city center and various beaches on the seashore when you climb to the top of the mountain. The mountain is not high and there are two ways to climb it: taking the cable car or climbing.
Sugar Loaf Mountain is the most famous landmark in Rio de Janeiro. Friends will definitely like it. The scenery in the evening is especially beautiful and worth a visit. The night view is extremely beautiful, it is really great. If the travel schedule was not so tight this time, I would definitely come a second time.
