The tower is the only surviving part of an old mosque that once occupied the space. Strange that this section survived.
You will pass this lovely plaza with the St Sebastian Minaret if you stroll off the main street and take time to see these lovely old sights.
You can walk past this along the walking tour, map from hotels or tourist office. Interesting to note.

A beautiful minaret once part of a mosque which does not exist anymore, it was salvaged and fitted into the current urban setting. It probably dates to the 14th century.
