Quirky, clever design. Rating – 8.5/10 Erasmus Bridge (Erasmusbrug) Address – Spans the Nieuwe Maas river, connecting north and south Rotterdam Highlights – Iconic swan-like bridge, even better at night when lit up. Great photos from the riverside. Took a water taxi underneath for fun. Rating – 8.5/10

We took the train into Rotterdam not really knowing what we’d find. People kept saying, “It’s not like the rest of the Netherlands.” And they were right. It’s not charming in the old-fashioned way. It’s sharp. Bold. A little weird. But in the best way. The kids noticed it first those cube houses tilted like a puzzle someone started but never finished. One of them said, “Are we inside a video game?” We walked under them, then into one that’s open to the public. It felt like living sideways. Nothing here is trying to be quaint. It’s trying to be new. Big glass buildings next to old harbors. Wide bridges, long views. The whole city feels like it’s still inventing itself. We started at the Markthaln part market, part spaceship. The ceiling looked like a technicolor dream. We let the kids pick snacks: Turkish pastries, Vietnamese rolls, Dutch cheese, and something fried they didn’t ask about before eating. (Smart.) Everyone tried something new. Not everything was a win, but that was part of the fun. We wandered the harbor next, past the Erasmus Bridge, which looked like a harp strung across the water. The kids gave it nicknames, made up stories about it. Everything here felt slightly oversized, like the city had been designed with a ruler and a sense of humor.

City walk in Rotterdam. recommended for 2 days, however if you don't have enough time, 1 day would also be enough. The famous buildings are quite near each other in walking distance. it's a walkable city. Rotterdam also has it's own airport, called Rotterdam the Hague Airport. Hotels, I stayed in Ibis hotel in the city centre. It's about 3-4 mins walk from the #Old Port. You can have a very nice walk nearby. There are also lots of food options nearby. #Markthal is right in the square, there are all sorts of options, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Burgers etc. If you love noodles, the #Takumi Rotterdam is a good option. #The Cube house is also next to the #markthal. You can also find the #Maritiem Museum Rotterdam not far from the old port. If you are filling adventurous, you can also walk about 30-40 mins to get to the seafront. Views are beautiful. You could walk almost the whole way next to the water. You can feel really relaxed. #travel #Relax.
