Regarding the review event
based on 33 reviewsAn old bunker on Jeju Island has been transformed into an art space. "Bunker of light" is an immersive media art exhibition hall that reinterprets this secret bunker once used as a national military communication facility.
In the space spanning from ceiling to walls to floor, light and music blend harmoniously, immersing visitors as if they were inside a work of art.
The exhibitions featuring different artists change with the seasons, and since the content varies, the atmosphere is completely different each time, offering unique inspiration even with multiple visits.

△ "Van Gogh, the starry night"
Reinterpreting the representative works of Vincent van Gogh, a beloved painter among Koreans, through immersive media art
This exhibition showcases the works of Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), a painter who received little recognition during his lifetime. The walls of the original communication shelter display images depicting the life of this tormented artist. In the decade before his untimely death at age 37, Van Gogh created over 2,000 works, which are now scattered across the world.

△<Gauguin, "The call of the islands">
This special exhibition will showcase masterpieces by Gauguin, the artist who profoundly influenced Van Gogh, through immersive media art.
In the thick fog of a late night, an unfamiliar yet magnificent tropical rainforest comes into view. As the women's faces gradually emerge, their figures are dazzlingly enchanting. These women guide the viewer into a world filled with illusions and flickering silhouettes, shimmering under the glow of light.

Other visitors' reviews of Bunker des Lumières
Show More ReviewsThis is the appearance of the Bunker de Lumières in Jeju Island. The currently open program is a 30-minute long program about Van Gogh. A 10-minute long program about Paul Gauguin is also being released as a world premiere. If you are driving a passenger car, you will need to drive slowly because the entrance is very narrow. As soon as you turn the corner, the car on the opposite side may face you head-on.Although there are chairs, it is more comfortable to sit on the floor to properly watch the video on the long wall (Image 2) that is practically the main part for about 30 minutes, and many visitors do so. It would be good to wear clothes that are comfortable to sit in.For reference, if you have a ticket to Jeju Bonte Museum bontemuseum, you can get a 10% discount. However, the discount rate is higher in the opposite case. I found that Asiana Airlines tickets also offer a 10% discount. It would be better to get a discount on the Bunker of Lumières with Asiana Airlines and a discount on the Bonte Museum with the Bunker of Lumières ticket.
