Eryan Temple has auspicious animals similar to those on the roof of the Forbidden City and two 600-year-old ginkgo trees. The auspicious animals are still there, but the ginkgo trees have all fallen. You can stroll around leisurely, just go with the flow.
There is an Eryan Temple in Fengxian, named after the two Yans of Fuzhi (wisdom and virtue). The entire temple is located on the left and right sides of the Forbidden City-style central axis. The building is covered with glazed tiles, with flying eaves and corners, and is magnificent. On the west side of the temple, there are two ancient ginkgo trees over 600 years old, one male and one female, like the guardian gods of the temple. In late autumn, the golden ginkgo leaves fall all over the ground, forming a perfect picture with the temple.

Eryan Temple, also known as the Buddha Pavilion, was first built in the Yuan Dynasty. It was originally located on Renmin North Road, Nanqiao Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai. There is a Thousand-Armed Guanyin Hall in the temple, which was built on the Moon City. The Moon City is built entirely with huge stones and has a stone-built French city gate. A Guanyin Temple is built on the city, which is like the key to the city. Hence the name "Key City" or "Moon City". There is a two-meter-high standing statue of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin enshrined in the temple. It is carved entirely from century-old camphor wood and is lifelike. Unfortunately, it was burned down during the Cultural Revolution. It has now become a cultural relic.
