based on 14 reviewsI happened to pass by on the weekend and found that I had never been inside. Xu Guangqi is one of the few celebrities in Shanghai history. Xu Guangqi (1562-1633), with the courtesy name Zixian, the pseudonym Yuanhu, the posthumous name Wending, and the Christian name Paul, was a Shanghai native. He was a Jinshi in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. He served as the Minister of Rites and the Grand Secretary of Wenyuan Pavilion and the Second Assistant of the Cabinet in the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. He was a famous scientist in the late Ming Dynasty, an enlightener of modern science, and one of the most influential figures in Shanghai history. The tomb is relatively well preserved. I have learned about it in history books, so it can be regarded as a review of history.

As a Shanghainese, this is my first time to visit Xu Guangqi's cemetery. The cemetery is inside Guangqi Park, just walk straight from the entrance. There are many aunties singing and dancing nearby, which is quite joyful.
Free to visit. The stone archway in front of Xu Guangqi's tomb should have been rebuilt. After carefully looking at the stone sheep, stone tigers, stone horses, and stone figures on the stone path, we arrived at the cross in front of the tomb and the stone tablets and cemetery behind it. It was noon when we came, and there were no people around. It was very quiet. , and then you can continue visiting the nearby Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall.
As a permanent memorial to this outstanding scientist and thinker, Xu Guangqi's Tomb, with its solemn atmosphere and rich historical and cultural connotations, demonstrates Xu Guangqi's profound influence on future generations. It is an important place to explore the integration of scientific spirit and humanistic feelings.
[Scenery] In the autumn at Xu Guangqi's cemetery, the trees and the ground are all golden, which is extremely beautiful! [Fun] After visiting the outside, visit the memorial hall, a good place to learn! Visit the nearby Tushanwan Museum together. [Value for money] Tickets are free, pay attention to the ten inscriptions, selected from the commemorative inscriptions of Cai Yuanpei, Feng Yuxiang and others on the 300th to 350th anniversary of Xu Gong's death.
It is said that the park is actually Xu Guangqi's cemetery. In order to commemorate many statues in it, of course, he is an outstanding mathematician and astronomer, who can acquire more knowledge. The park attracts the elderly and children around it. It has dense vegetation and is a good place for walking and breathing fresh air.
Xu Guangqi Cemetery is located on Nandan East Road in Shanghai's Xuhui District, a few minutes' walk from Xujiahui Metro Station. It's quite convenient, with no entrance fee and free admission! The cemetery is tranquil and peaceful, with bridges, flowing water, pavilions, and towers. The cemetery also houses the Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall, which can be fully explored in an hour. For history enthusiasts, this is a must-see!
