　When I ran a few ｋｍ east of the national highway from Koshimizu Hara Hanazono, I saw a white pyramid-like building on a low hill on the sea side. That was this Fretoy Observatory. A square-shaped observatory is built at the end of the hill where you park your car and climb. From the observatory, the Sea of Okhotsk spread out on the north side. The day we visited was not visible in the cloudy sky, but I think you can also see Shiretoko no Yama 々 on the east side.
