2023.06.20 (Tuesday) Road Station is a smooth Koshimizu, and if you think something's strange, you're disappointed during the renovation work. I saw a suspicious triangular building from the platform of JR Hamakashimizu Station. I decided to try ~ Walk about 400m6 minutes across the railroad crossing, walk on the gravel road, climb a little and arrive ~✨ Yeah ~ What happened here ~‼️ I don't care about grass bobo, but ...
It is located on a small hill about 10 minutes walk from Hamakoshimizu Station on the Semmo Main Line. If the weather is nice from the observatory, you can see Mt. Shari and Mt. Shiretoko 々. It was sunny on the day, but it was a little hazy and I could see Mt. Shari. The sea in Okhotsk looked beautiful, so it seems that you can see drift ice nearby during the drift ice season. I'm sure you can see a beautiful scenery during the flower season.
Observatory on the hill overlooking the Okhotsk Sea and the Shiretoko mountain range
Original Text
I was running east of the national highway 244 from the center of Abashiri city. Hamakoshimizu Station and Road Station are just in front of Flexible Koshimizu, that is, a small hill near the coast near Abashiri, a white square cone-shaped building that feels uncomfortable with the surrounding landscape was built. That was the Fretoy Observatory. From the parking lot under the hill, I walked to the observatory in 2~3 minutes. From the observatory, when you look north, you can see the Sea of Okhotsk in front of you, and when you look east, you can see the mountain of Shiretoko 々 ...
When I ran a few km east of the national highway from Koshimizu Hara Hanazono, I saw a white pyramid-like building on a low hill on the sea side. That was this Fretoy Observatory. A square-shaped observatory is built at the end of the hill where you park your car and climb. From the observatory, the Sea of Okhotsk spread out on the north side. The day we visited was not visible in the cloudy sky, but I think you can also see Shiretoko no Yama 々 on the east side.
Nice scene
It's old observatory same like Biei observatory. On the top you can see lake tofutsu, Okhotsk sea, Hama-koshimizu train station, potat farm.
I'm sorry it looks like a ruin.
