Xufuyan Waterfall, located about 6km west to Xuedou Temple, is well-known in the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River for its highly-hanging waterfall and perilous precipice. Leave the place as you found it. Although there is a sign saying swimming is prohibited, the day was just too hot to not enjoy that crystal blue water. During the hours when the sun is fully out, the place was pretty much empty, so I took advantage of that and went for a swim. 💯% worth it. The water is amazing, super clear, and shallow the first two or three meters. After that it does get deep, good to dive and swim around! I do believe the sign is there just for precaution, as the area is not really monitored (there are cameras right there, but no actual security or life guards), and not because the water is potentially dangerous or something. But that’s just my personal opinion and I actually have no idea lol ⚠️ Do watch out for animals around you at all times.
