The predecessor of Shenyang Casting Museum was founded in 1939. After the liberation of Shenyang, the factory changed its name several times, until 1956, the factory was named Shenyang Casting Factory. The foundry covers an area of 330,000 square meters, and on April 17, 2007, Shenyang foundry poured the last furnace of iron water, and completed its historical mission. Tiexi District decided to keep a large workshop of the factory, and to transform it into a casting museum that will show the industrial context of the old industrial zone in the northeast.
