Very little crowd (on an April Friday afternoon) which was both sad and good - good seats & view for the scheduled shows and peaceful walk as if around your own large secret garden.
A number of iguanas roamed free along the pathways - almost stepped into one.
The birds were pretty active and it was intriguing to watch them in their own zones, some in open spaces yet they do not tend to fly away/escape. Some interesting spots to me are Wetlands, African Treetop (has an air-conditioned café), Toucans and Hornbills and Pelican Cove.
Limited and pricey F&B options - would have brought my own bites & picnic snacks.
Tram rides are chargeable at $5 per adult. Parking rate was under $5 for the 3 to 4 hours we were there.
Recommend to wear insect repellent to reduce mozzie bites.
Address - 2 Jurong Hill, 628925
Getting There - Take the East-West MRT line bound for Tuas Link, and alight at Boon Lay (EW27). From the Boon Lay bus interchange, take Bus No. 194, which will take you straight to Jurong Bird Park.
Attractions - Animal Feeding experience and live shows
Food & Restaurants - Hawk Café at the entrance of the park and The Social Kitchen powered by The Vegetarian Butcher within the park.
Jurong Bird Park is located at Jurong and housed more than 3500 birds across 400 species, of which 20% are threatened according to the Bird Park official site. There was not a very huge crowd when I was there but you need to keep track of time if you want to catch the live show.
King of the Skies is approximately is held at Hawk arena and High Flyer is held at Pools Amphitheatre. Both show last about 20mins but you need to be there early to grab a slot. Another important point to note is that there are only 2 shows timing daily.
if you are into animal feeding, do note that prior booking is a must as all slot would have been snapped up before the day itself. I had the experience to feed African penguin for a cost of $5 and pre-booked it weeks in advance. I was given a bucket of about 6 fishes and get the experience dropping the fish into the penguin mouth. I would highly recommend this given that the Bird Park is the only place you get to be so up close with penguin.
Overall, great experience, plenty of beautiful birds dispersed around the park.
Jurong Bird Park is an incredible bird park that’s so informative. I was there with my family and we all learned a lot from the tour guides. All the staff there were very welcoming and friendly and you call tell they really loved working there. The park was very well-maintained and clean. There’s a great collection of birds. From parrots to flamingos, the list goes on. Totally worth spending an entire day there to enjoy all the park has to offer.
Singapore Jurong Bird Park in Singapore knows that it is a world of birds, from the icy Antarctic king penguin to the hot equator, 400 species, the largest bird park in Asia, all representative birds We can find all of them in class. The most surprising thing is that the Amazon purple blue macaw, which is extremely rare in the world, is the protagonist in the movie "Rio Adventure".
