My first visit to Tiger Hill
Tiger Hill Scenic Area is one of the famous attractions in Suzhou City, a national 5A-level tourist spot. The Yunyan Temple Pagoda within the scenic area, as part of the Grand Canal, is listed in the 'World Heritage List', boasting a history of over 2500 years.
Tiger Hill is also known as Haiyong Hill, with an actual elevation of only 34.3 meters. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Minister over the Masses Wang Xun and his brother, the Minister of Works Wang Min, built villas on both sides of the Sword Pond. Later, they donated their residences to build the Tiger Hill Temple, which was constructed along the hillside, with the feature of 'the temple concealing the hill' being one of its major characteristics.
The Tiger Hill Pagoda in the scenic area was built in the sixth year of Xiande of the Later Zhou Dynasty during the Five Dynasties (959 AD) and was completed in the second year of Jianlong of the Song Dynasty, the year of Xin You (961 AD), and has a history of over a thousand years. This pagoda has seven stories and eight sides, with a height of 47.7 meters. It leans towards the northeast by northeast direction, with its top deviating from the center by 2.34 meters, and the maximum inclination angle is 3 degrees and 59 minutes. The Tiger Hill Pagoda is also known as the 'Leaning Tower of China' and the 'World's Second Leaning Tower'. It is the earliest existing pagoda in the south of the Yangtze River, with a grand scale and exquisite structure. Many calligraphic stone inscriptions left by kings and literati throughout history can be found here. The four large characters 'Tiger Hill Sword Pond' beside the round hole gate were originally written by Yan Zhenqing, the only son of the great Tang Dynasty calligrapher. Another inscription 'Wind Ravine Cloud Spring' inside the round hole is said to be written by Mi Fu, one of the four great calligraphers of the Song Dynasty. On the left cliff, the seal characters 'Sword Pond' are said to be written by the great calligrapher Wang Xizhi. The entire scenic area covers an area of 72.8 hectares, with a core scenic area of 15.97 hectares. The main attractions include Sword Pond, Tiger Hill Pagoda, True Lady's Tomb, Broken Beam Hall, Yongcui Villa, Simple Spring, Sword Testing Stone, Two Immortals Pavilion, Thousand People Stone, West Creek Ring Cui, and Wan Jing Villa, etc. Interested friends can take their time to appreciate and experience it, and will surely benefit greatly.
Su Dongpo said that it is a pity not to visit Huqiu in Suzhou, so Huqiu is a must-visit attraction in Suzhou. The history and culture in the scenic area are rich and the scenery is very good. It is suitable for bringing the whole family to play together.
When you come to Suzhou, you must choose attractions. It has the reputation of Wuzhong's first mountain. It integrates history, humanities, religion, landscape and nature. You can reserve some more periods and stroll slowly. If it is normal physical strength, there is no need to take that sightseeing car.
The first stop of the trip to Suzhou, Huqiu Mountain, thought it was quite a big scenic spot, but after I arrived, I found that I could walk down for more than two hours. The overall is not bad. I understand the allusions of humanities and history. Every scenery has its unique historical charm.
Huqiu is very worth a visit. The winter scenery is so beautiful, come back when the mountain flowers are full, you must deeply feel the lush, red and leafy summer! If time permits, you have to put Tiger Hill in the itinerary and slowly feel the place that the emperor likes.
Huqiu can see most of the attractions according to the tour map south gate route. Each attraction has popularized historical and humanistic knowledge. 1. The blind monk in the spring has cured his eyes with spring water; 2. Test sword stone ~ dry will not evil sword, test sword with stone, and divide the stone into two; 3. True Woman Tomb ~ Tang Anshi's chaotic exile in the Qinglou, died by himself. Leading celebrity inscriptions; 4. Thousands of people stone ~ places where the monks teach; 5. Sun Wu Training Ground ~ places where Wu Wang Aiji is beheaded, there are now allusion films screening; 6. Huqiu Jianchi ~ Wu Wang Funeral at the bottom of the pool, and there are thousands of swords to accompany it; (mistaken to think that Wu's husband who was killed by Gou Jian was worse 😂) 7. Yunyan Temple Pagoda ~ The ancient pagoda built in the Song Dynasty, the iconic monument of Huqiu!
The tour bus in Huqiu Mountain really feels that there is no need to sit. It is more than 300 meters above sea level. It feels like the strength of climbing 3 floors at most. The road up the mountain is very gentle, that is, the elderly can slowly walk up with crutches. The main attractions of Huqiu Mountain are very close, and special military travel can be completed in 10 minutes. But when you stroll on the path and feel the breeze, I suddenly feel that the aura on the mountain is very abundant. It really suddenly feels like this. It may be that the air is very good. In the form of dozens of tickets, my mother and I walked around the corner of the scenic spot. Because of this aura, I recommend everyone to go to PS: I think the temple at the foot of the mountain is very similar to the temple when Su Wukong and Yang Tong fight in the travel history.
Huqiu is a historic scenic spot in Suzhou, located in the northwest suburbs of Suzhou City, about 5 kilometers from the city center. Tiger Hill Tower is the landmark building of the scenic spot, also known as Yunyan Temple Tower, is an octagonal seven-level brick and wooden structure ancient tower built in the Song Dynasty, known as the "Oriental Pisa Leaning Tower" due to the tilt of the tower. In addition to the Huqiu Tower, Huqiu has many other places of interest, including Jianchi, Broken Liangdian, Thousand People's Stone, Shenggong podium, etc. Jianchi is a sword-like pond, which is rumored to be the place where Wu Wang buried the sword. The temple is named after the broken beam of the roof of the temple. There are many stone artworks on display. The stone of thousands is a huge rock, which is legendary as the site of the tomb of Wu Wangxuan, which was named after thousands of workers who excavated it. The Shenggong podium is a place to commemorate the Song Dynasty high monk pig iron. Huqiu is not only a historical and cultural site, but also one of the representatives of Suzhou garden art. The natural scenery and humanistic landscape complement each other, attracting countless domestic and foreign tourists to visit.
The tiger hill that went to mid-December set off earlier, and the environment in the scenic area was quiet and comfortable. I arrived at the north gate. In order to save physical strength, I chose to take the scenic battery car directly to the top of the mountain (it is a small hill, it is very easy to walk up the mountain). The world's second leaning tower Suzhou Yunyan Temple Tower (Huqiu Tower) stands on the top of the hill. Going down the mountain, strolling around the scenic spot. South Gate came down and accidentally saw a rocking boat (electric) that can go directly to Shantang Street. The ticket is small and expensive, but I feel very worthwhile, especially when the sunset pops up at the corner, I am amazed.
