The biggest fun here is the cartoon stage shows and taking crazy photos. The main entrance is on the 3rd floor of the amusement park. As soon as you enter, you'll see Hello Kitty and other cartoon characters. The 1st and 2nd floors mainly have amusement facilities and performance venues. The 4th floor has restaurants and cafes. Generally, you don't need to queue much. I've been there twice, and the only place where you need to queue for a long time is the Sanrio Star Family Boat Ride. Additionally, my top recommendations are: 1️⃣ Hello Kitty Noh Theater I never expected my first experience with the Japanese cultural treasure of Noh theater would be in this form. The characters in the play are all Hello Kitty mascots, and the costumes are particularly exquisite! Unfortunately, you can't take photos. The theme of the play is Momotaro, and the actors are very professional. Even if you don't understand Japanese, you can instantly get into the atmosphere. 2️⃣ Parade The most exciting part should be the parade. People start sitting and waiting early, and the atmosphere is very lively. Transportation: Take the Keio Line from Shinjuku Station and get off at Tama Center Station. If you are a fan of Sanrio, If you are on a trip with your besties, family, or as a couple, Sanrio Puroland will be your 'happy hometown' The park treats you like a child throughout, letting you immerse yourself in a fairy-tale world, even the most stoic guys will be touched. Sanrio Puroland is an indoor amusement park. So you don't have to worry about the weather, you can have fun no matter the season or weather! There are umbrella racks and lockers at the entrance, so you can store your things first and free your hands! Then go to the first floor to get a photo ticket for the meet-and-greet (one person can only take a photo with one character) One of the highlights of Sanrio Puroland is the performance show! There are 3 performances, with a great atmosphere and interactivity! It lets you completely immerse yourself in the adorable fairy-tale world! You can buy tickets for the performance seats, but I think it's unnecessary, you can occupy a closer position an hour early, or just watch from the second floor. Sanrio Puroland's performances are famously good, with great lighting and music, and the actors and cute characters are very engaging... Every time I watch it, I'm left wanting more, with a lasting impression! Don't miss the parade floats, they're amazing! Don't miss it! There are fewer attractions in Sanrio Puroland: one is the boat ride, which is slow and steady, mainly to see some cute Sanrio characters, a bit like Disney's It's a Small World. The immersion is great, and you can't help but keep saying 'so cute, so cute' throughout the ride. Another is My Melody's magic cart, a whole pink world, super cute! They help take photos throughout, and you can choose your own photos to print at the end. If you don't want to queue for the rides, you can also get a fast pass for 1000 yen The 2nd floor's Hello Kitty house is gorgeous and very photogenic! You can't stop taking pictures, and you might even meet Princess Kitty... Sanrio Puroland has many cute facilities, with n number of photo spots, each filled with Sanrio elements, and the photo success rate is incredibly high! You can also get gachapon, draw for plushies, and take purikura. There are three dining areas in the park. The 4F buffet restaurant can be reserved upon entry to avoid queues. The other two are more like food courts. Sanrio's cute food is mainly on F1. 3F is the Gudetama Sanrio souvenir shop, the shop is too cute, filled with Sanrio treasures, it's impossible to leave empty-handed Tips: ①Make a reservation ②Remember to get a map and a performance timetable when entering, and plan your queuing time for shows and attractions. ③The park's attractions are all 'gentle' so you don't have to be picky about what to wear, you can wear skirts, and I recommend clothes with a girly feel and solid colors for better photos. ⑥The park is at the end of a commercial street, and there's also a small park. After coming out of the park, you can also take a stroll, it's quite pleasant. Day 1: Dream World and Tokyo Skyline On the first day of my Tokyo trip, I started at Sanrio Puroland. As I walked through the gates, a strong fairy tale atmosphere greeted me. Classic cartoon characters like Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, and My Melody seemed to take me into a dream. The various amusement facilities, colorful buildings, and cute character interactions in the park made me reluctant to leave. After experiencing the fairy tale magic, I headed to Tokyo Tower, a landmark building symbolizing Tokyo, offering an unparalleled viewing perspective. Standing at the top of the tower, the bustling and vast Tokyo unfolded before my eyes. The night view from Tokyo Tower was particularly enchanting, with twinkling lights making me feel the endless vitality and dreams of this city. Day 2: A Collision of History and Modern Charm On the second day, my first stop was Senso-ji Temple, one of Tokyo's most traditional attractions with a history of over a thousand years. Standing in front of the Thunder Gate, feeling the thick incense and the devotion of the visitors, I felt as if I had traveled back to ancient times. Walking into the temple, the serene atmosphere brought me inner peace and tranquility. After leaving Senso-ji, I headed to the modern Tokyo Skytree, the second tallest building in the world, standing majestically above Tokyo's skyline. From the top of the tower, I had a panoramic view of Tokyo, with the distant cityscape and bustling streets below, everything seemed so breathtaking. On this day, I experienced the perfect blend of Tokyo's tradition and modernity.

I recently visited, and there were more people than before the pandemic, especially many from overseas! The attractions were soothing and purifying, enjoyable even for adults! ✨ The longest wait time was about 2 hours, so it's best to be prepared for that. 💦 There are chain stores and coffee shops on the way to Puroland, so you can take a break before or after your visit, which is a big plus. 🩷☕️

#tokyospots First agenda when we visited Tokyo, Sanrio Puroland! My eldest daughter's wish when she was 3 was to go and meet Hello Kitty and friends and we finally were able to do it! The huge facade is really enticing that it made them jump for joy. The aesthetics of the place is very cute and really caters to young girls, im age and at heart like my wife! My first visit to Puroland was around 1992-1993, and I remember going crazy with excitement because everything looked so beautiful. I've been there a few times since, and even on this recent visit, it still feels the same as it did 30 years ago! Although many things have changed, the main gate, treehouse, murals, shops, and the crowd all seem unchanged, giving a nostalgic feeling of going back 30 years. The biggest difference now is that I didn't go on a shopping spree; I didn't buy a single thing 🤪.

#themepark People who say Disney is the happiest place on earth have never been to Puroland. Puroland is located outside tokyo proper, about an hour subway ride from shinjuku station. The amusement park is about a 5-10 min walk from the station. Tickets were $20 USD and I recommend buying them in advance. There's multiple floors, attractions, and gift shopping. The whole park is indoors so not subject to weather. Here are a few callouts: Sanrio main parade (once a day at noon): This is one of the main events here and many guests start waiting for a seat over an hour in advance to get a good spot in the main hall (treehouse area). It's very lively and cute and you will see all major sanrio characters dance around the main area. Sanrio boatride: This is probably the best attraction/ride. You sit in a small boat with your party and go through very cute rooms (think Its a small world but better). The lines get long here so recommend going when you first arrive. Melody/Kuromi ride: honestly this ride was not worth the long wait. Its mostly for photos they take of you as a souvenir but the ride is very short. If you are tight on time I recommend to skip.
