A shrine in the mountains where strange rocks rise
Original Text
When I came from Kitakyushu to Ogada, I suddenly saw the rice terraces in the Take area from the long mountain road. If you go down from there, you will see the sign of Iwaya Shrine, and when you go in a row, you will find a small shrine that clings to the mountain pocket, and is surrounded by strange rocks that rise. There is a story that one person can finally stand up, there is a rock tunnel, and you can enjoy a little thrill.
A shrine that enshrines "Hojuishi", which is said to have fallen from the sky in the 6th century. The main shrine, which was built using the hollow of the famous "Gongen Stone", is also an important cultural property designated by the country. It seems that it has been the base of Mt. Hikoyama Shugen since ancient times. There were strange rocks in the area, and the atmosphere was truly a sacred place. Is it impossible if you are not a person with good legs due to the tightness of the stairs?
If you climb the mountain road along the Hitahikoyama Line, you will find this shrine. The mountain road from the first torii gate to the shrine is also steep, but the stairs in the shrine were also steep and decayed. I just hope that there will be no accident due to muscle pain the next day. The shrine itself has many Buddha statues and Jizo, which makes you feel mysterious. It's a very extraordinary atmosphere and very interesting.
An unexplored shrine in the mountains of Fukuoka Prefecture
Original Text
It was introduced in Skymark's in-flight magazine a few years ago, so I went for an autumn drive. Surprisingly, access from the Kurume area was good. It seems to be a shrine with a fairly old history. If you go up, there are steep stairs on the way, so it is recommended to wear athletic shoes or sneakers. It was a little spiritual spot. There are rice terraces, quaint local line stations and bridges around, giving a good rural atmosphere.
Is it a good shrine for a couple in their 50s who love exercise to take a walk after lunch? However, since it is a steep staircase, I think sneakers are necessary because it is dangerous for sandals and leather shoes.
