School to cultivate competent talents involved in Hokkaido development
Original Text
This is on the right side of Shiba Park in front of you after leaving Onarimon Station. The origin of Sapporo Agricultural School begins with the establishment of [Hokkaido Development Commission Temporary School]. In 1897, the Hokkaido Development Commission was established at Zojoji Temple in Tokyo Shiba, but in 1897, it was said that a [Hokkaido Development Commission Temporary School] was added to the precincts of Zojoji Temple, which is the same as the Hokkaido Development Commission, to foster competent human resources involved in Hokkaido development.
In the premises of Hokkaido University in Sapporo, there is a strong 々 remnant like the Sapporo Agricultural School of the Hokkaido Development Commission, but was Hokkaido University starting from this area in Tokyo? There is a granite stone monument indicating it. In front of the headquarters in Sapporo, there is a stone monument of peridotite derived from the mantle.
On the northernmost side of Shiba Park, there is a stone monument of the "Hokkaido Development Commission Temporary School Ruins" in a section where the children's amusement park is located. It was in the planting, and behind it was a ginkgo tree with autumn leaves. It was a simple stone monument, and it melted in the surroundings and wasn't noticeable, but I thought it was good.
I'm a little impressed by the contents of the inscription.

From the beginning, I thought that the agency named Hokkaido development commissioner existed only in Hokkaido, but it was Tokyo that was the first established. The area around Zojoji Temple, which is now part of Shiba Park, was the first temporary school site. Enter the park from the corner of the intersection of the main street, just off the Onarimon Subway Station, and there is a monument in the planting on the right side of the premises. It is a low-height monument, in a large park on the site, and is placed on the front side too casually, so I feel ...

The place where my alma mater started.
