I drove from Madrid to Cordoba and visited the ancient city. Due to time constraints, I only visited the cathedral, the San Martin Bridge, and the observation deck. This ancient city is still worth a day to visit.
The old city known as “El casco” is beautiful. Prepare to get a good leg workout goin from one attraction to the other one as you’ll be climbing up and down all your journey.
The ancient city of Toledo, a city in central Spain, is a must-visit tourist destination in Spain. With a history of 2,000 years and the reputation of "the capital of three cultures", the ancient city was listed as a world cultural heritage in 1986. As early as 1923, the Spanish government issued a decree to list Toledo as a "cultural relic ancient city" under national key protection; subsequent laws and regulations have made provisions for strictly prohibiting the demolition of old buildings and strictly controlling the construction of new buildings; and a new city was built nearly 1 kilometer away from the ancient city to divert citizens to live; the style of the ancient city of Toledo was thus fixed in the Renaissance. Walking in this eternal city, the towering churches + castles and the quaint houses + shops complement each other, the winding rivers and the undulating streets crisscross... Sometimes it is majestic and grand, sometimes quiet and petty, sometimes Don Quixote, sometimes fashionable girls, and the scenery changes with each step, and there are surprises one after another.
Toledo, central Spain, is an old city built during the Roman Empire and was once the capital of the Visigoth Kingdom. Hundreds later, the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V of Spain moved the main court venue to Toledo, which became the imperial city. The church of Toledo in the heart of the Old Town is an old building that has been around for nearly 800 years.
An hour's drive from Madrid, Spain's old capital, medieval ancient city. On weekends, spend a day walking around, it is worth it, it is also the back garden of Madrid.
