Tumen Port

Tumen Port is a “century-old port” with an early customs clearance and a long history in Jilin. It is a port for cargo transportation. It is divided into railway ports and highway ports, with an annual cargo handling capacity of 5.6 million tons. The Tumen Railway Port can directly reach Rajin Port and Chongjin Port in North Korea by railway, and can reach the Russian Far East through the Doman River in North Korea. It is the main channel connecting Jilin Province to the Russian Far East. The railway port was built in 1932, and the commercial port was officially opened in 1933. The railway port bridge is 439.96 meters long, the Chinese section is 230.2 meters long, and the annual cargo handling capacity is 5 million tons. In 1954, international transport was opened. In 1985, the "Small Land Bridge" transportation between China, North Korea and Japan was opened, and 7 pairs of trains run between China and North Korea every month. The Tumen Railway Port is an important support point of the "port strategy". It has a marshalling station. The railway station has 24 marshalling lines and an international marshalling yard that can be loaded with 17 wagons at the same time. There are more than 30 passenger trucks. The Tumen Highway Port is the second mainland port of my country to North Korea that allows the passage of passengers and goods from third countries. The total length of the highway port bridge is 514.92 meters, and the Chinese section is 98.08 meters long. The national gate of the highway port was built in 1985 and has a "gate"-shaped structure with a height of 11 meters and a width of 5.5 meters.
