Pellestrina is one of the islands closing the lagoon of Venice. It is a long (about 5 miles) and thin tongue with some interesting historical spots on it. On one side there is a long wild beach where the people of the island go for swimming and sun bathing. there are a couple of nice towns with fine restaurants and really fascinating views. It is the perfect place also for bike lovers. Srarting from Chioggia you could take the boat, ride all through the island, taking again a boat, riding through Lido and then arriving by boat on the other side of the lagoon, at Punta Sabbioni. It is quite a long way, but really funny.
