based on 10242 reviewsDefinitely allocate at least 3-5 hours; you simply won't have enough time to see everything. My favorite section was the paintings and sculptures. The furniture, tableware, and royal decorations, however, are quite different from those in domestic museums. My complaint is the audio guide; at least half of the artwork numbers couldn't be read. Refund! Haha. Everything else was great. The interior design is definitely worth taking lots of photos.
The Kunsthistorisches Museum was built during the time of Emperor Franz Joseph to display the collections collected by the Habsburg Dynasty for hundreds of years. Historical Background The Kunsthistorisches Museum was built in 1872 and completed in 1891, designed by the architects Gottfried Semper and Karl Hasnaul at the time. The towering dome of the museum is impressive, and the museum itself is one of the most striking buildings of the 19th century. There are a series of collection exhibition halls in the tour hall, which are divided into painting exhibition hall, Egyptian oriental collection exhibition hall, classical collection exhibition hall, coin exhibition hall and art collection room. Among the paintings worth seeing are the paintings of Caravaggio, Rubens, Breger the Elder, and Raphael's "The Madonna on the Meadow".

The ultimate museum!! The must see BUT go early! If not it will be impossible to find a locker!
One of the best art museums I've ever been to! I wish I had more time to explore... 2h is enough if you're just walking through but if you're the type to read everything definitely allocate 3-4h.
It is worth visiting. Learn about Austrian history and the collection is rich. The architecture of this museum itself is a work of art. If you are tired of looking, there are sofas in the exhibition hall to rest, and you can rent Chinese interpreters at the door. It is a good experience.
Rubens, Durer, Bruegel, Arcimboldo, Tizian, Veronese, Tintoretto, Raffael, Caravaggio... Another jaw-dropping afternoon! However, even if you don't eat or drink and try your best to stay strong, you still can't fully enjoy the Vienna Museum of Art History - for the sake of the painting museum that you can understand, you give up the Egyptian, Greek and Roman museums that you can't understand; and for the sake of the nearby Museum of Art History, you give up the music museum that you have been thinking about - a special trip to European museums is a luxury! Visiting an art museum means not eating or drinking, running all day, and making all kinds of choices [cover face][cover face]
The best museum in Vienna! You can spend there so much time and all the rooms are amazing and beautiful. Plus, a big bonus - super photogenic cafe, the best time to come - early morning.
The time flies when you are in this museum. A lot of halls and artefacts are shown. If you read every information you will need a entire day to see it.
The ticket is 21 euros, and renting a Chinese audio guide is another 6 euros. The price is high but it is highly recommended. There are a lot of fine art works inside. Especially the paintings are a lot of famous works. It exceeds many national museums in Europe. The Habsburg family is powerful and can really collect. I listened to 40-50% of the content of the audio guide, and it took 4 hours. I was reluctant to leave.
