Shamarra Alpacas – Cuddles, Cashmere & Craggy Harbour Views at Akaroa
#mytraveldiary
Ambience & Setting
Tucked on the slopes of an extinct volcano above Akaroa Harbour, Shamarra Alpacas farm spreads across hills that overlook volcanic peaks, blue water, and rolling pasture. The view is wide, the air fresh, and the alpacas adding warmth and character—soft fleece, gentle hum, and curious eyes. It feels intimate: a place where farm life, sweet animals, and scenic drama meet.

Show More ReviewsWhen we arrived, it was raining. We were asked if we wanted the activity moved indoors due to the weather, and we were offered a refund or a reschedule. We didn't reschedule. Although the activity was indoors, the alpacas were just as cute, our mood was just as good, and the activity was just as wonderful. Thank you for the cookies; they were delicious.
