After all, the Maori are the aboriginal people of the island country of New Zealand. The culture, art and history of New Zealand are more of the traditional arts of the Maori. Native Tuten, handicrafts made of abalone shells are their typical representatives!
The art museum is behind the city hall. There is an art exhibition inside. My English is not very good. I can only understand one-tenth of the work by the guide, especially the works of Maori artists on the first floor. I can feel the chaos of the world that our ancestors said in only a few words. It is one, and then all things are born two, two, three, three. The differences in national culture are too great and wonderful. 100 strange art chairs were designed on the second floor for 100 days. Since they are art, they can only be appreciated but not practical, but what can not be done by designing them? I think it is to expand human thinking space.
If you are interested in the art of Maori and other parts of Oceania, you can visit City Gallery Wellington. In addition to Maori art, it also exhibits some works by local Wellington artists. Tickets are free, there are some very good exhibits, of course, special exhibitions are charged.
The Wellington City Art Gallery is located in the center of Wellington. It is a three-story British-style building with no special features. The decoration of different colors on the exterior walls doubles the artistic sense of the entire building. The Art Gallery mainly displays the culture and art of the entire city of Wellington.
This is the first time in Wellington City, where the leisurely small town lifestyle is very desirable, and the wind blows your face after sunset in the evening is very comfortable! This is an art exhibition center that represents the entire city. If time permits, I suggest you go around!
A great place to call in and see some examples of local artists' work. We ended up buying a piece from one of the artists and had it signed. Great place to spend some time.

Great space and brilliant staff but not the strongest exhibition this July. On the bright side some excellent video in the cinema but overall far from amazing.
We went to the City Gallery on a rainy day in Welly. Entry is free and the exhibition was nice. Staff is extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend.
It is a lovely space with friendly staff. The exhibitions are all temporary, so you do not know what you are going to get. The stuff that I saw did not really appeal to me, but it may be different nex...
