Lingshan Grand Buddha

Wuxi Lingshan Buddhist attraction, located in the Mashan Taihu National Tourism Resort in the western suburbs of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, is adjacent to the Taihu Ring Expressway and the Wuxi-Yixing Expressway. It is a renowned "AAAAA"-rated large-scale Buddhist cultural tourism attraction. The entire attraction faces Taihu Lake to the south and is backed by mountains to the north, with Qinglong Mountain and Baihu Mountain on its east and west sides respectively, presenting a magnificent landscape.

The attraction opened in 1997, covering an area of approx. 300,000 m². Starting with the first-phase project in 1994—the sacred and solemn Lingshan Grand Buddha, followed by the awe-inspiring nine-dragon bathing performance in the second-phase project in 2003, and then the magnificent Lingshan Brahma Palace in the third-phase project in 2006, it has become one of the important windows showcasing China's excellent traditional culture with its profound Buddhist heritage and exquisite, breathtaking Buddhist cultural landscapes.

The architectural complex of the Lingshan Grand Buddha attraction in Wuxi takes the central axis from the southern mountain gate to the Lingshan Grand Buddha as its core, extending symmetrically on both sides. Along this axis, it fully presents the story of Buddha's four key life stages: birth, enlightenment, teaching, and nirvana. The four main views of the attraction are formed by the Lingshan Grand Buddha, the Nine dragons bathing the Buddha, the Lingshan Brahma Palace, and the Five mudras mandala city.
