Anrenfang Heritage Museum

Did this year's Spring Festival Gala in Xi'an impress you?! My favorite part was the Hanfu display from various dynasties. Especially this Tang Dynasty Hanfu, fully enjoying the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty. Now in Xi'an, you can find many Tang-style blocks, such as this Anrenfang Site Exhibition Hall. Anrenfang is one of the 108 blocks outside the city wall of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty, only two blocks north of the imperial city, and separated by a wall from the Small Wild Goose Pagoda and the Xi'an Museum. According to literature and tomb inscriptions, at least more than 30 celebrities once lived here, such as the poets Yuan Zhen and Du Mu, the monks Yijing and Vajra Wisdom, Tang Xuanzong's daughter Princess Wanchun, Wang Xin and other royal relatives and nobles, and Yuan Zai and other high-ranking officials. The Anrenfang Exhibition Hall is built on the archaeological site of the Tang Dynasty Anrenfang Mansion. Entering the exhibition hall, the site of the Tang Dynasty neighborhood mansion is underground, and the traces of the ancients' lives are clearly visible. And above ground is a full presentation of the life in Chang'an City of the Tang Dynasty through sound, light, and electricity. The first floor displays the "lifestyle", divided into living, clothing, music, dance, and poetry. You can understand the living environment at that time through photoelectric murals, understand the differences and wearing differences of different Tang Dynasty costumes through on-site objects, and the playing methods and matching performance scenes of different musical instruments, etc. The second floor displays the "Five Flavors": festivals, tastes, tea, wine, multimedia, etc., especially the Tang Dynasty feast scene restored according to ancient paintings, to understand the dining habits and food styles at that time. After visiting up and down, you really feel all aspects of the prosperous life of the Tang Dynasty. Share a few shooting locations with everyone: 1. Tang Dynasty clothing display area, it's fun if you wear Tang-style Hanfu like me 4. Lantern corridor, you can use telephoto, compress space, and make the lanterns look more. 5. On the protruding platform, looking forward, the characters are very prominent 6. In front of the calligraphy, you can choose to shoot from the side, or use the word as the background. 7. Poetry exhibition hall, you can stand in the display cabinet, or check in in front of the big screen. 8. Tang Poetry Bell, it is also a place where everyone will take pictures when they come to Anrenfang, you can use medium focus or wide angle Compared with other museums, the lighting and design of this exhibition hall are very good, very suitable for shooting portraits.

Let's walk into the ruins of Anrenfang and take a peek at the bustling marketplaces of Chang'an's 108 squares thousands of years ago. The ruins of the ancient people's lives are underground, and the exhibition hall is above ground. The entire venue is built on the original ruins, with a suspended glass floor. Underneath is the real ruins of the Anrenfang mansion. You can see the rammed earth and ruts from the Tang Dynasty, as well as the well-preserved patterned bricks. Walking on it is like walking through a thousand years of history on the streets of Anrenfang. It's really beautiful, open and well-designed, and very photogenic. The two floors display the clothing, food, housing, and transportation of the Tang people, as well as modules on poetry, wine, tea, and culture. It's rich and vivid.

Ever since coming to Xi'an, it has been raining continuously, and our original plans had to change, we switched to indoor activities on short notice. The landlord recommended the Anrenfang Site Museum, which wasn't in our initial plan, but if a local recommends it, it must be good, right? So we decided to go, and it exceeded our expectations! I thought it would just be a popular spot for social media check-ins, but it's actually really nice to walk around. The museum built on the site has several areas with glass floors, allowing you to see the ancient relics. Above the relics, you can learn about Tang Dynasty culture and life, as if traveling through time , it feels quite magical. The museum's environment is also very photogenic, with many spots perfect for taking pictures, attracting many young ladies with their photographers. The elders in the family also really liked it, saying it was worth the visit—and it's free! Up here is the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, the setting is absolutely stunning! Especially during a light rain, it's serene and pleasant.
