Tangda Ci'ensi Relic Site Park (South Gate)

The Great Ci'en Temple is located in Jinchangfang, Chang'an City, Tang Dynasty (present-day south of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province). It is the ancestral court of the "Eight Kinds of Buddhism" (also known as the Faxiangzong, the Jushezong, the Ci'enzong) and one of the three translation sites of Chang'an Tang Dynasty. The Great Cien Temple is the most famous and magnificent Buddhist temple in the Tang Chang'an City. It was built by the imperial court of the Tang Dynasty. In the year of the Tang Dynasty, the Prince Li Zhi founded the Cien Temple in memory of his mother, the Empress of Wende, and the Great Sun.
