What travelers say:

Needless to say, Yellowstone is one of the most stunning heritage sites I have ever been to. Wild animals and geographical sites are preserved like what they were supposed to be in the ice age... Both animals and human being will find themselves home in the Yellowstone...the least I could say.

Helpful Information

Take note of the park’s opening hours and plan your route through well in advance. This National park’s environment is protected, the lush flora and fauna of Yellowstone is actively preserved by rangers. Because of this and for the safety of all, visitors are not allowed to destroy, step on, or pick, flowers and other plants in the park. There are also potentially poisonous flora that grows naturally in Yellowstone. Visitors should be sure to pack sunscreen, bear spray and bug spray for hiking in Yellowstone. The cost of food in the park is higher and more scarce in the space so preparing food and beverages for carry in is the way most visitors take. All trash and refuse should be discarded only in official bins or carried off of the park grounds when you leave to avoid attracting bears and other wildlife to the scent of garbage. If you should encounter a Grizzly bear or any other wildlife in Yellowstone it is important to remember to remain calm and back away from the animal without engaging with it. If you encounter an animal that injures you a report must be made with the park rangers at the visitor center.
